Fulmer to UK?

anyone here wanting Fulmer in Kentucky is foolish, you think Fullmer doesn't have a lot of pull in Tennessee high school coaching ranks? You watch phill pull some of the best from Tennessee to Kentucky!

I agree with you.Fulmer could do a pretty good job there.Alot of High school coaches in Tennessee respect him.

Ten years is way over 50% of his coaching career.

2 SEC titles in 17 years at UT isn't that great. Sorry.

Still better than how many other programs in the SEC? All of the NCAA?

Sir, you simply need to put away your hatred for Fulmer. He did a lot with our program for a few years (deserves at least a little fan appreciation for that), had his problems (just like you and I do), and now he is gone and not coming back. With UT's administration and fans like yourself, I wouldn't blame him if he never walked back on UTK's campus.

Now, if you'd like, BOOT me off VN for disagreeing with you. However, I thought VN was a place where UT fans could relate their opinions without malice from the palace.

I know you don't remember the '90's, Z. Might want to research. Second most winning coach at UT not anything at all? I enjoyed going to the NC game that we won. Really, really had a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy yours. Oh, wait! Might not be in your lifetime.

Maybe zjcvols wants Hart to go after Joker Phillips... gosh, I sure hope not!

I was five years old when Fulmer won a NC. That was in 1998. That's ages ago basically.

Maybe if Phil did not get complacent in his "glory years" he would have a better legacy.

How many other programs and coaches have not won a NC since 1998? I can assure you, MANY programs and coaches envy Fulmer's "legacy" at UT. BTW, I've been a VOL fan since before you were even thought of, and although I am not a Fulmer-ite, I would rather have him than Dooley any day! I doubt if Dooley could coach the Vols out of a paper bag.

Anyway... GBO!

I have realized you can't argue football with someone under the age of 20, most of them think you just start a new dynasty and if that doesn't work you hit reset and start over. EA Sports,. It's In The Game!!!!

Anyone who tries do discredit Phil's LEGACY is a fool. What the man accomplished is pretty impressive. And you claim he fell off his last ten years, well then that makes it MORE impressive. I guess all of his accomplishments were done in 6 years!!!! The man won 75% of his games, and won a BCS National Championship. Obviously the Phil haters on the board you mod have tainted your young mind. The man has, and always will have, an OUTSTANDING LEGACY!!!!!

In 2008 Tennessee needed a change. Now look at tennessee.I'd rather have Fulmer than the Clown we have now.If and when Fulmer gets another shot i expect him to grab hold of it and go.I think he wants to prove everybody wrong that said the game has past him by.So more power to him if he is offered.

I would be very surprised if Fulmer bit on this job. As I recall, he said that one of the criteria he would consider was the potential, particularly in terms of institutional support, for a program to win championships in football. Bear Bryant left Kentucky way back in the '50s because football was a distant second fiddle to basketball, and it really does not seem like anything has changed there.

did you read the Kyle Tucker article that was posted? If you are a little hazy on what Fulmer is looking for in a job you should read the article, he spells it out pretty plainly.

Yes, I read that article and it is entirely possible that Fulmer's previously stated criteria have changed somewhat, that is if he is itching that badly to get back into coaching. With all due respect, however, Fulmer's comments struck me as being very carefully worded and diplomatic, which is entirely understandable since he was dealing with a journalist who covers Kentucky athletics.
