Curious if anyone has heard if perhaps there will be a future game at Bristol. If so, who would be the opponent. Or was this a one and done from 2016. Who would you guys like to see match up against our Vols?

I went to it and I will still say it was the most fun I've ever had at a UT game that I never want to do again.

The tailgating was unbelievably fun, everyone was friendly, everyone was having a blast, and it was cool to be a part of a record-setting game attendance.

BUT..... you could hardly see anything on the field, and even though their "jumbotron" was supposedly the biggest one ever made at the time, it was still too small to see much, and then getting out of that place from parking was a nightmare designed by Satan himself.

I had a blast, but would not do that again. That said, I'd pick VT again.

I echo these thoughts, and will add a couple of my own. I was "end zone". I have used Google Earth to measure and put it on the same scale as Neyland Stadium. Doing a little math (I'm a civil engineer and have done a lot of surveying in the past, so don't doubt me). My seat was the equivalent of being in the South side of the stadium but distance wise, I was on the G10 Deck.

Also, I thought, gee, I'll just catch the stuff I can't see on the Jumbotron. They weren't playing the game on the Jumbotron all that much. A lot of shots of little kids eating ice cream, the bench, more people in the crowd. Very little football was played on that screen.

Bristol- 160 yards from South goal line

Neyland Stadium, same distance:

So if they scored on the other end, I was close to being 300 yards away from the football.

I was sitting in my son's student seats and let both my boys sit up at midfield.

I would add to your statement that for a venue that once served 150K + the concessions sucked. The jumbotron would have been useful but whoever was running the cameras never showed the action on the field just panned the crowds to see reactions like it was a Nascar race instead of FB game. I'm with you " nevermore"

Every person that I know who went to the game has the same sentiment. Glad they can say they went but won’t ever go back.

Think us and VT would be the only picks again who could remotely come close to filling up that stadium again.

If it was going to happen, I'd say play VaTech again and maybe get a little series going. It makes the most sense geographically.

There were discussions amongst the people that run BMS about 2 years ago, nothing has really come of it to this day, but UT was asked if they would be interested and from what i understand, BMS wanted someone other than Virginia Tech if this were to happen again.

I echo most other's thoughts here on the game at BMS.
It was one of those once in a lifetime things that I'm glad I went, but probably wouldn't do it again due to the same reasons already given...distance away from the field, parking issues, Jumbo tron was pretty much worthless as it seemed like they hired a NASCAR crew to run the cameras.

If BMS were to do another football game I could see them looking at the NFL and inviting the Titans and Steelers (seem to be an abundance of Steelers fans in the Tri-Cities area for some reason).
If the UTAD did get made an offer they couldn't refuse it would almost have to be VT again...can't think of anyone else where the fanbase would travel 60 to 75 thousand to fill that place up.

I was in the lower section about half way up with my phone camera at a substantial zoom and it was still a long reach for any kind of decent photo.

I'll be that guy, I'm fine being that guy. We had a group that rented an RV, drove up, tailgated, hung out in the parking lot for two days, and then went to the game, and I would totally do it again if it was the right game. I thought doing that at BMS was ridiculous and stupid and I loved it. Hearing 130,000+ folks singing Rocky Top was awe-inspiring. The only real problem with that game was the intense heat that settled in that week. It was stupidly hot the whole time we were there. Made the afternoons miserable.

To be fair, we had seats up in the raceway stands around the 35, so we didn't have trouble seeing. I could totally understand the folks in the corners saying "never again," those seats were very, very far away from the field.

I would do it again but I was not setting in the end zone. I could either watch the field or the jumbotron and see just fine. My only complaints were the concessions and the fact that the display on the jumbotron was flipped from the field view - so was confusing at times.

Traffic getting into the area was really bad - may have been where we parked because we got out quickly, quicker than at Neyland.

Same here - but I was setting in the stands to the side - I was actually surprised at being able to watch the action on the field. Then again I normally set on the next to last row in the upper deck at Neyland so not used to seeing the players that close.

I’ve heard they’re talking about doing it again, but without VT.

Needs to be a fan base that will help fill it up. Clemson makes sense. FSU maybe. OSU, PSU, or Mich would help fill it up.

My son and I went (he was 13), rented a camp sight for two nights, and had seats on the 35. My son still claims it is one of the greatest experiences of his life - which makes it one of the greatest experiences of my life.

I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I'd go with one of the teams that will be coming to the SEC when it inevitably raids the ACC. FSU, Clemson, or UNC maybe.
