Future jobs CCM will be offered

Maybe but I feel okay jumping the gun on his future. The guy can obviously recruit (closing out is a wait and see game) and he can obviously coach. He's done 99% of everything right since he got here and I see no way he's not going to be successful. I really believe the guy hangs a national championship banner in TBA before he calls it quits.

You are the most optimistic guy I have ever seen a post from. I hope you are correct, but that is a very big prediction. Go Vols!

The University of Illinois is soooo funny!!! I remember that they announced prior to any interviews that they were purposely seeking a minority coach.
Well, it all fell through and none of the qualified minority coach's were interested in the job, so they ended up hiring a white man.
It is funny because (1) They opened their mouth too soon (2) No qualified minority was interested in their crummy college. (3) Had a university announced that they were seeking to hire a white person, the whole media would have attacked that university, yet Illinois got a free pass from the media....
They are soooo stupid......

very true

It's the offseason and I'm sure this has been touched on before but I was curious what everyone else thought.

Tennessee was Martins first big time coaching gig (I'm assuming he was never offered at another school that wasn't a mid major?) and this is all a business so what schools do you see Martin jumping ship for? He seems like a high character guy so unless it's massive amounts of money, he stays put but is Purdue pretty much the only other school he has ties with? I would imagine it would be very difficult to turn that one down.

Man you must have lots of time to worry. I would say think, but worry covers it. Chill out.

I seriously don't even understand this one bit so maybe you could explain it to me more. You don't find it odd that we didn't have a very successful season last year and Martin's name was still in the conversation for other major jobs like Ill. and Mizzou? I would think this talk only increases if he has the succes we believe they will this season.

How do you figure?

After 1 year he was already drawing interest, you think if he has a good year he won't draw more interest?

My point is why would you sit around thinking about what bad things could possibly happen? Besides, it's FOOTBALL TIME!!

In essence, it is being optimistic and pessimistic at the same time. "Man , I sure hope CM and the Vols have a great year." "But wait! If they do, we may lose the Coach." oxymoronic.

Not everyone is as excited about you as football season, so go ahead and throw that one out.

It's not being anything, it's a discussion. We have civil discussions in this forum without them having to turn to $hit like the football forum. It's a simple discussion, which schools do you think he'd even consider, that's all. Pretty sure everybody on here wants him to have a great year and isn't that worried about him leaving.

It's just a discussion.

Thanks for contributing NOTHING to this thread. Since it's Football time then GTFO and go talk football. The beautiful part of the internet is if you don't feel like posting in a particular thread, YOU DON'T HAVE TOO. You seriously are a moron.

Closing out is 99% of recruiting. Just being a fan favorite of top tallent doesn't win any recruiting battles.

Player development remains to be seen. We saw improvement from some players, but not others. Maymon, Golden, and maybe McBee saw some improvement. McRae, Hall, Tatum not so much.

Hangs a National championship? Seriously? Well, hope you are right.

And if you dont have something valid to say, you don't have to. Idle chit chat; like the pizza and Italy post I made. Dumbing down of Volnation. I had me a good laugh; anyhow.

Glad your smiling because your still a moron. Conversation is not dumbing down Volnation. People like you do that. And you seriously don't want to talk about having something valid to say because you never do.

Are you seriously questioning that you were pleased with Tatum's and McRae's development last year?

I don't think it would be fair to judge development because we didn't run a complete offense and he didn't have as much time to work with the kids. I know everyone improved their defense though. This year will tell a lot.

McRae took strides and Cam improved (who was a fifth year senior, so there wasn't going to be much room). I was happy with CCM's development of them, and I think most people are. If McRae takes more strides, then there won't be any complaints.

Is yemi not on that list? You could see the improvement literally game to game. Same could be said for Stokes.

There are multiple threads/posts on here on how Tatum totally sucked last year. I really think you would be in the minority if you think people were pleased with his play. I'm sure most on here are glad that he will not be playing this year.

As for McRae...well we've heard for years now that he has NBA tallent and he got bumped from the starting rotation and replaced with McBee and McRae half way through the year for his decision making and lack of effort on defense.

So, no I do not think "most" people were happy with either their effort/play/development.

That's why I said player development remains to be seen. I was completely happy with some and very disappointed with others.

Stokes will tell alot this year. If he can totally dominate and become a first round draft pick, then we know that CCM can develop top tallent.

I remember all of these same type of threads after Dooley's first year. If an injury occurs to a key piece or two, then we will have nothing to worry about concerning losing Martin to another program. What we would have to worry about is everyone on here wanting Martin fired.
