Future of Florida

I see that you wanted to strike first so you would be the author of the first ludicrous thread about Florida football 2022.
Take off you Battered Vol glasses and see what a mess UF is in. 4-7 their last 11. Weird coach that thinks recruiting happens after football season. Uf fans can see Mullen isn’t the future. They are getting worse. Next year we’ll be in our 2nd full year of our new schemes. We’re only gonna get better.

It's past time to eject Florida from the collective head of Voldom. They have been living there rent free for at least 15 years. If Heupel can change one thing about UT football, it should be to at least play Florida to the best of our ability and not just lay down every time.

He seems to have brought the expectations from Mississippi State with him. The guy can coach but Florida is not the kind of school where you can be a lazy recruiter and keep people happy with 8 or 9 wins per year.

I think it's been shown that Florida isn't the job everyone thinks it is. I know, I know, "all that instate talent!" But instate talent is an overrated factor. They have to share that talent with a lot of other programs. And a lot of programs have more to sell...better facilities, better fans, perhaps better NIL deals.

Think about it, the only two Florida coaches who've had success are Spurrier and Meyer...two of the greatest coaches who ever lived. Muschamp was supposed to be a great hire. He flopped. Mullen took Mississippi State to a #1 ranking. If he doesn't succeed there, that's a pretty strong indictment.

That said, the best thing for Tennessee would be someone who does just well enough to hang around, but not get fired. Someone like Mullen. Although I'm not sure who the hot names on their board would be if they were to fire him. Fickell, perhaps?

Unfortunately the Florida administration, boosters, and fans don’t settle for good enough. They’ll stomach for a season or two, but if things aren’t pointed north they pull up stakes.

This is weird.

A thread about a team that is s***ing the bed right now, and what they are going to do next year assuming their current coach gets canned.

Yet, this team beat UT by 24 points.

Next year, though, next year. It’s in the bag.

When you don’t recruit like Mullen doesn’t during the season, it’s going to come back to haunt you. They’ve already lost two recruits that was pretty good. One pulled out before the Georgia game, then the other one pulled out during the week off. You don’t say things in a press conference like we’re going to recruit after the season. Recruiting is 365/7, and if you don’t do it that way, your football program can fall further behind. They are already behind on recruiting. I don’t know how Dan Mullen survives this.

Mullen is super corny. Don’t know if the kids connect with him or not. The thing with his wife is super creepy. Their recruiting hasn’t been up to standards. Wish we played them later in the year
What is the thing with his wife?

I think his decision to use 2 qb's and swap them in/out of games was a factor in Florida not being a better team and a bad call for a head coach. I'm sure Florida AD is looking around for his replacement.

Have you ever been to Gainesville FL? I don't know why anyone would want to spend 4 hours, much less 4 years of their life there. There is not enough money in the state to get me to move there.

I can't speak to current status, but Gainesville was a cool little college town like 20 years ago.

Always had a good time there-thanks mainly to the co-eds.

I hate Florida with a passion and always have. Didn't keep me from having a good time though.
