Yep. We are going to lose spots on the 25/85 soon so managing the risk/reward is key here.

The type of threads I’d like to see go away lol. We focus on this kid already . Had two shots to come here . Still picked FL , kid isn’t coming here , move on.

Yours to, we get caught up in the fairy tale , we aren’t bowling this year or playing for a Natty . What purpose does he have . His closest relationships were with Pruitt old staff, I’m sure it’s going to take more than just HB being here for him to enroll. I’m sorry I’d rather focus on kids who really want to be here and who we actually have a shot at landing . Regardless of stars. Only reason folks in here are still on him is because of his ranking. I get it we want him, I want him to be a vol but reality is he’s not coming unless something drastic changes .

The threads that are annoying are the ones where kids don't have a shot of coming here (DBs from WV and Clemson). This kid actually has a connection here.... I don't think its the strongest but we actually are a viable option. Most 5 stars are a "fairy tale" for us right now, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't at least attempt to snag some.

I feel ya, I just don’t like when I see our fans get their hopes up . For some reason is bothers me like a big brother trying to close lil bros eyes and ears. Idk weird example but short story , we will be good again one day . I don’t know when and may not even be during the JH era but right now we are lowest of lows. And getting the right kids here to build not only what we are losing but build that foundation, like leadership , accountability, family , everything that it takes to build a championship culture and Arik seems like the type of kid having his own issues and bringing that on a team who is literally rebuilding a from the bottom may be toxic . I’ve seen for years we having talent but the toxic culture from one staff to the other has to change . So for me recruiting the right players are more worth talking about than someone who doesn’t even know where he wants to be . Not being a nega vol just my opinion . He might have a connection but there needs to be more than a high school friend/ teammate. We don’t even know how their relationship was . That’s all.

I got a grand idea...why don't you stay out of the threads that seem to upset you? You say you'd rather focus on this kid or that kid...by all means, go for it; and not worry so much about what's going on in threads you don't like. "We get caught up in the fairy tale"...its totally up to you, and you alone, not to. Just because YOU don't see a purpose for this thread, doesn't mean it doesn't have one for someone else. Why can't you "move on" from people who wish to discuss Arik Gilbert? You "don't like to see our fans get our hopes up"...then don't watch. No one needs you to save them.

In my almost four decades of being a Vol fan, not one single recruit has let me down. I gather information, positive or negative, and don't get caught up in it to the point of being "let down". I'm a "NEXT" type of person, because these are 17, 18 year old kids we are talking about...their minds change with the breeze. Yet, im not so arrogant, that I try and encroach my way of thinking onto someone else. If someone wants to get excited about the possibility of Arik Gilbert being a Vol, who the **** am I to try and sh!t all over that? Dont need anyone telling me/us when we are up, or when we're down.

Was I disappointed that Ty Simpson chose Bama? Sure. Was I disappointed Sam Horn chose Missouri? Sure. NEXT! Now I'm following the kid from Ohio, and the kid from Indiana. Pruitt did say one thing that I agree with, "Don't worry about the ones we don't get...worry about the ones we do". I've felt that way about recruiting long before he stepped foot in Knoxville.

As far as being able to hide threads, there is a way...don't click on them.
