'17 GA ATH DeAngelo Gibbs

I think it is stupid for a supposed vol fan to run around the board correcting everyone who says something he thinks is factually inaccurate about rival teams. Not just once, but you will post over and over about it. NOBODY BUT YOU CARES. So just to be clear, I THINK IT IS STUPID. So defend all the rival teams you want to, and I will continue to lol.

I think it's stupid not to care about truth, regardless of to whom it pertains.

So it's not ok for us to cheer for our team the way we like but it's ok for you to bash other posters just because we don't bring up our rival's superior results on the field like you do? You're truly something else.

I simply posted a list of NFL players by college. I didn't start the bashing initially.

You don't like the way I post statistics? Ignore me.

Didn't realize team allegiance and objectiveness were mutually exclusive events. Forgot on VN they are.

You don't care, yet you keep responding. Interesting way of showing it.

Well, since he did not have any picks, did not do much on offense and did not have many tackles, I am sure that Eastside thinks he's garbage. Stats from one game signify a trend, in his agend...er, I mean, world.

I think there's a big difference between Georgia putting players in the NFL and wasting talent while the players are PLAYING AT GEORGIA. Both of these statements are factually true and not mutually exclusive.

You don't have any idea what you are talking about. Multiple games would be a different story …

I agree. For how much more talented these GA teams have been compared to our Vols, they have indeed underachieved and have done less with more.

UT had its first 9 win season since when? Back to back bowl games since when?

BGV- if GA 'hasn't' wasted recruits talents as you claim, then why wouldn't they have more
players in the league (13+ Tennessee) over the worst 10 year span in UT history.

When you look at our win to lose ratio VS. Ga's over the same span GA is significantly better. Played in relevant bowl games. And made it to SECCG, and and have had significantly better recruiting classes.

GA has put more players in the league, but when you look at the whole picture, and compare and contrast our W/L records, Georgia has underachieved. 13 more players than UT. And how many Vols will be drafted next year to close that gap?

Sutton, DB, AK, JH, etc, etc.

Richt consistently had top 10 talent and probably should've stumbled on one. But it wasn't like he was trotting Bama talent out there every year, at least not on paper. Looking back they've averaged roughly the 3rd-4th best class in the SEC. As we've seen over the years having top 10 talent only means so much if multiple teams in your own conference are ahead of you in that top 10.

Pulled a "you" and looked up GA's classes. While you are right about some of their classes but middle of the pack. The times that did happen, UT was usually anywhere from 5-15 spots below what GA was and we all know how big of a difference that is.

Also, stop backtracking and talking about Bama, Auburn, LSU recruiting classes and comparing them to Georgia's. Both teams we are talking about are in the east division, the west division has no barring on what players make it to the NFL from the east. And GA doesn't really play as many teams in the west division which makes your point irrelevant.

Edit: UT had a class ranked in the 30s 5 years ago or so. Don't remember that one.

I said I believe we will close the gap, but it's not like they'll go through a drought this year or next so it'll take a little while to close it significantly.

Assuming they'll continue to "underachieve" because a prior staff did so is terrible logic. If so there would never be a point in making a coaching change because the same results are to be expected.

Failing to win a NC may have been failing to maximize talent or build the right chemistry, whatever the term but the talent either developed enough or stood out individually enough despite coaching to get drafted. Like a lot of our guys did in the Dooley era. My point was I don't think players go to UGA to die per se. Even under Richt the track record on average says you would average 10 wins a year and have the chance to play for a conference title once.

You're talking about UGA failing to win a NC with their talent. In that case, the West absolutely has a bearing because if you don't win the conference you're likely not playing for the NC. So if Bama, LSU or Auburn has better talent and that's who you play for the right to go to the NC/playoff, on paper, you should lose.

Of course those classes have nothing to do with who makes it to the NFL. We're discussing two different things now. I'm not comparing UT to UGA in any fashion.

I ASSumed you were also discussing how many players have been sent to the NFL by these teams. Carry on 👌🏽

No, no just why UGA likely never won a NC or even played for one. However, I do believe in 15 years Richt should've probably at least made an appearance in one.

I think I'm done carrying on though haha.

Vol Nation August 2016

"Neener."

"Neener? Well Neener neener!"

"Oh yeah? Well Neener times infinity."

"You can't have infinity neeners."

Over and over and over and...

Looks like Gibbs recruitment has played out exactly like Hardman's did. Commentator mentioned Gibbs most likely 5 OV's, Tennessee was not one of them. He said we were one of the teams next in line though

I think Gibbs has said that he does not need to come here on an official visit because he has been up here so many times. Still, I think that our chances are fading. OV and GFW don't sound very positive on this one. AtlantaVol has not given up yet, though. I also would not trust some random ESPN announcer when it comes to recruiting, however.

The only positive spin here is we're absolutely loaded at safety. He doesn't have the hips to play corner. And would probably be a backup safety till his junior year.
