Gibbs, Pappoe, and Breon Dixon couldn't stop IMG's offense from thumping Grayson; 26-7 final score.
Dixon didn't play. He was serving a suspension from being tossed in the last game last year at Peachtree Ridge. They really missed him on defense. He would have helped against IMG's QB. I still don't think Grayson would have won though. IMG has way too much talent and depth. My daughter was at the game and she said that the IMG players as a group were noticeably bigger than the Grayson players. For all the hoop-a-la about the five local transfers to Grayson; they are no IMG. Gray struggled against Beal. Jamyest got exposed by IMG's big receivers. Taylor is a solid HS RB, but will be undersized when facing a college size defense. Gibbs is raw as a safety and needs to learn how to wrap up and tackle properly. He played mostly WR at Peachtree Ridge.
Watched some of the Grayson/IMG game. Here are some of my thoughts:
(1) DeAngelo Gibbs - Very impressed with him this year. I thought he struggled at the opening the past 2 years trying to play CB. IMO he doesn't have the hips to play that position. He's always been a freak athlete but moving to safety now allows him to show that more frequently in terms of his speed running to the football. Hope we can get back in on his recruitment. A Gibbs + Warrior combo at safety would be a dream going forward.
(2) Kellen Mond - Really liked this kid. Second best looking prospect after Gibbs on the field IMO. He reminds me of freshmen year Dobbs. Similar build, arm, and athleticism. Dobbs made a huge leap as a sophomore. I'll take a wait and see approach on Mond if he can make a similar leap going forward before I declare him Dobbs 2.0.
(3) Dylan Moses - My God this kid looks bad. I have no idea how he's still rated as a 5 star. He looked so SLOW and UNATHLETIC. Plus he's undersized, not very cut, and shows poor instincts and hustle. All in all I was shocked by how bad he looked.
Yall know I've gotten on Jacoby Stevens for not looking like a 5 star. Well I have to apologize to him. Compared to Dylan Moses he looks like a future NFL hall of famer.
Seriously how is this kid still getting buzz? I guess the evaluators and coaches that declared him the next big thing 5 years ago as a 7th grader don't want to admit they were wrong. The kid looks like he hasn't improved since then.
Don't forget Pappoe I thought he looked really good for a Sophomore considering the talent he was playing against.

Gibbs didn't overwhelm me. Missed several tackles, poor body language, and he just looked to make a big hit instead of making the tackle.
I watched the whole 1st half and sporadically watched the 2nd half. To me, Mike Jones Jr. looked like a real nice player. Wish we could flip him from Clemson. Owen Pappoe, for being a sophomore playing with mostly 4* & 5* JRs and SRs really seemed to hold his own at LB and was frequently around the ball.
Edit: Can't forget about the WR committed to LSU. Best player out there IMO. At least on this day.
Yeah, that cat got robbed on the touchdown to end the half.
I thought so too at first, but he went out of bounds and came back in, which of course is illegal participation. Although, it could be argued he was maybe forced out of bounds on his route by Jamyest Williams.
It was a great catch nonetheless.
Gibbs was at the Georgia Dome last night watching Ga. Does anyone know who will be at Bristol this weekend? Seems like a good recruiting venue (being at the largest crowd record).
