'17 GA ATH DeAngelo Gibbs

“Georgia having J.R., it helps them a lot,” Gibbs said. “He can’t play this year, but in practice he’s a great player, and everybody’s saying he’ll be on the field when he has the ability and time to.

Ah... the beauty of subtle, deceptive word play. Reed is a carrot dangling. Coaches say when he has the ability... the fact is, he probably is not going to see the field because he lacks the ability, especially given the high level of recruiting UGA is achieving. There is a reason he wasn't signed by an SEC school in the first place.

Well, I guess they can still hang out though.

You guys are missing the point. He's very close with Reed. Doesn't matter if Reed plays. They will still be at the same school together.

From the rumors its not just about Reed. Reed starting the swing but supposedly Kirby has worked out some other family to go to school there to make it basically a done deal unless he just totally give them a middle finger

People putting stock into who wins the on field games in these recruiting battles... Well, they don't know much about recruiting.

And it doesn't matter which cousin is the better "player". Complete non factor...

That depends on the individual player. People who think all recruits are the same don't know much about recruiting either.

If we are going to win the game then how the game plays out matters to the recruit. If we are going to lose then it doesn't matter to the recruit as us losing just tells him he has a better chance of playing early.

I think I got that right.

No. It doesn't matter much either way.

That's what matters the majority of the time for 18 yr old kids.

"I’ve been to some other big games, but this is probably one of the biggest games I’ve probably been to,” Gibbs said. “I was at the Georgia game last year. … But this was kind of a little bit more because they hadn’t beaten Florida, I guess, here in 11 years. I can see why everybody was excited for this win.”

“He said Tennessee is the place to be, and he loves it,” Gibbs said of Warrior. “Every day they’re working hard. They’ve been preparing him to get better. He’s got to recognize some of the plays better, get to know their system a little bit better. He loves it. He’s telling me, ‘Come up here.’ But, like I say in every interview, if it’s not for me, it’s not for me.

“He understands that. He wants me to just keep coming up here, keep showing me around and showing me a good time.”

Another of Gibbs’ cousins, cornerback J.R. Reed, transferred from Tulsa to Georgia this summer.

“Georgia having J.R., it helps them a lot,” Gibbs said. “He can’t play this year, but in practice he’s a great player, and everybody’s saying he’ll be on the field when he has the ability and time to.

“As far as me and him, we’re very close. We talk almost every day. He’s like my brother. He came from Texas, and we used to work out all the time. We grew up together, (about) the same age. He’s just like my brother. He’s enjoying the environment, as well.”

"If it's not for me, it's not for me". Wow.
