'17 GA ATH DeAngelo Gibbs

I do think hes risky. Many folks didnt care much for him. But hes here now, hope he turns it around.

Talented kid. Didn't have a real position at UGA. I always thought this guy was a WR by nature. Didn't have the quick twitch for CB nor the physicality for safety even for his size.
Great hands and athletic. Good speed. Great size.

For 2020...

Not true. He can count against this year or next years 25. Both London and Chryst were forward counted to 2019, Gibbs will probably be done the same way to 2020.

IMO we are at 23 spots for 2019 and 24 spots for 2020 after the Gibbs commitment. Those numbers are not considering additional forward counting.

I used to think I could keep up with the spots available, but there are so many loop holes ... who really knows except for CJP.

I think the 2 transfers (Solomon and Gibbs) can both count in the 2020 class if needed.
I think the DB/WR (Kenney Solomon) could be a blueshirt toward 2020 if they want to sign him.

We supposedly had 22 ships for 2019 due to 3 forward counts from last year. Then we had 2 OL that took medical hardship so that number may have increased to 24 for 2019. We have 19 signed so far so that leaves 5 more spots max for 2019. (Wright, Toot, and Russell would be 3 of them if the all sign). So if 2 more from (Cox, Moore, Pickens, Harris, etc) want in we could sign them. If only Wright, Toot and Russel sign then the 2 transfers can count in 2019.

So here’s a question. Right now we are tight on the 85 man limit. He counts against the 25 this year but will he count against the 85 limit since he’s not eligible to play?

I think Gibbs and Solomon would count against the 85 limit. With Gibbs + Solomon+ 10 early enrollees, we are at 80 for the spring semester.

With Gibbs + Solomon+ 19 signees we would be at 89 scholarships in June/July (86 if you subtract Richmond, Williams and Wolf who are in the transfer portal now). If we add 5 more on NSD we would be at 94 by June/July. So we would need to lose 9 transfers by the end of spring to get to 85. Trey Smith could be 1 of the 9 if he takes a Medical hardship. If you look at the non-contributors + the players already in the transfer portal, we should have no problem getting under the 85 limit by 2019 season.

Not sure if that's even true, but London and Chryst didn't come for Spring term. If he's taking scholly for the Spring, which it sounds he is, then he's 2019.

Solomon has to be 19 per Callahan. Same reasoning.

A counter is anyone taking a scholarship, playing doesn't matter as long as the scholly is there.

Can't get a spot back for medical if the kid has already played, otherwise schools would be handing out medical retirements like candy and sign 40 a year lol.
