'17 GA ATH DeAngelo Gibbs

If Fields gets granted eligibility(he will), I wonder if Gibbs would have a case for the same reason🤔

Obviously, UGA is an extremely hostile environment for students of color, and all black athletes should be permitted to transfer out of UGA without penalty for the indefinite future. #staywoke

Here is something I have always wondered. If a transfer counts toward a certain class, does that transfers rating count as well?

I have yet to see a rating service rate the transfers. They rate high-schoolers and JuCo kids, so that's all you'll see in the yearly class list.

Talented kid. Didn't have a real position at UGA. I always thought this guy was a WR by nature. Didn't have the quick twitch for CB nor the physicality for safety even for his size.
Great hands and athletic. Good speed. Great size.

For 2020...

Tillman might give you something...and call me crazy but I’m still holding out hope that Maleik Gray will see the light and contribute something...he’s extremely athletic from all I’ve read...but maybe doesn’t have enough dog in him

Yeah Tillman has some ability. Needs more coaching from Johnson.

Maleik Gray was actually pushing for backup CB last fall camp...then he just fell off.
Then moved to WR. Looked good for the 1st week....then disappeared.

These past 2 weeks might be the best 2 weeks for the Tennessee football program in the past 12 years, when we last went to the SEC championship game. Fulmer is making all of his wrongs as HC back then right as AD now. Only one thing left to post, besides BOOM:

youre going backwards there. A midyear could backcount ('18) or current.
If you are right, that means we only have 3 more spots left (total of 22) for 2019 without blueshirting someone to 2020.

1. Darnell Wright
2. Henry To’oto’o
3a. George Pickens
3b. Chris Russell
3c. Anthony Harris
3d. LeDarrius Cox

Hope they can work it out where we can forward count Gibbs to 2020. We are passing on some quality players. Backup grad transfers (Madre London) aren’t worth missing on talent like this.

Give me the top 3 and call it a class. That's Top 10 easy.

I'm 100% sure they'll give him a non-athletic scholarship this semester then put him on athletic scholarship next year so he can count towards 2020.

Coming out of high school, many analysts thought Gibbs was best suited at WR. I did too, just based on his film. Anquan Bolden is the comparison that was made. Georgia had him at CB/Star, which isn’t really his most natural position. Even if you are gonna play him at DB, he’s more of a Safety.

Tennessee putting him at his most natural position should help him thrive.

Nice plug... no affiliate link? :p

Haha I didn't see that URL when I found that on Google images.

Now if you'd be interested, I have a budding ecommerce platform that is ready to launch by the end of Q1. If you'd be interested in affiliate links, referrals, backlinking, I'd be glad to have that conversation :cool::cool:

But yeah, I'm excited for Gibbs. Definitely think he can be a major contributor for the Vols going forward.

Initially, I thought adding Gibbs was a bad move. He has baggage, is changing positions, and we already are having to "make room" for signing day. Then I looked at the depth chart for WR. We are losing a ton next year and don't have much to back it up.

Sitting out a year to learn the position will be good for him

What non-athletic scholarship does he qualify for and why didn’t we ever utilize that for Dobbs?

Reading UGA247 thread on Gibbs transfer to UT and most are saying they should have put him at WR, they say that was his best position in HS. One poster said he was the most dominant GA WR he's ever seen.

Sounds like this kid is extremely talented, WR is his best position on the field, and he needed a wake up call and a fresh start. Let's all hope he turns his career around and he ends up being featured on College Gameday with Tom Rinaldi one Saturday in 2020 or 2021. GBO
