'17 GA ATH DeAngelo Gibbs

I saw a stat near the end of the season that showed we led the SEC in dropped passes, by a wide margin!

I found the stat, and what I said was somewhat inaccurate - Guarantano had the highest percentage of his incompletions resulting from dropped passes (over 25%). Note this was before the last two games (Missouri and Vanderbilt), so it may have ended up even worse. We definitely need some sure-handed receivers!

Stats show Jarrett Guarantano SEC QB being hurt most by drops

He'll make a lot of noise in camp. I think he'll be a big part of Hype train going into 2020.
Because 2019 will be a surprising year. Our defense will be one the top in the conference

And we will have found a QB by the end of year.

I think we'll have a ton of momentum going in 2020 and Gibbs will be part of the Hype

Our defense will be one of the top in the conference in 2019?

I want whatever it is you're smoking, my friend.

Man, adding guys like Gibbs and Solomon has me excited for 2020. Wright, Henry T, Morris, Crouch and others will have a year under their belts, we add Bailey, and then we have these two guys joining Jordan Davis. The only bad thing is that it's sooo far away.

This is a big deal...assuming he makes the transition to WR successfully...we lose Callaway, Jennings and Byrd after this year...just from a numbers standpoint it’s good but when you factor in the type of athlete he is it becomes even bigger

We were pretty stout against run oriented teams. A lot of new faces last year. New defesne and IMPROVED statistically despite all that.

So yes...smoke what you want.
But we'll be in year 2 of Pruitts defense with a lot of experience returning.

Completely agree. Also think we’ll be helped on D by a more consistent offense that can sustain some drives and hopefully keep them more fresh.

I said this earlier. And someone said we did ok. They must not have paid attention. Speed dont mean chit if you cant catch the dang ball.

I would love it if you're right. I just don't expect them to be quite that good, though the schedule doesn't present as many potent passers as 2018 did.

You may be on to something.

Really? Wow I wouldn’t have expected that. Was it one of those convoluted PFF metrics?

The stat came from CFB Film Room (Twitter @CFBFilmRoom) and was turned into an article on Saturday Down South. I was surprised about it as well - I would've thought we were mid-pack before I saw it quantified. The Auburn game - where our receivers seemed to catch everything - was clearly an outlier.

If you are right, that means we only have 3 more spots left (total of 22) for 2019 without blueshirting someone to 2020.

1. Darnell Wright
2. Henry To’oto’o
3a. George Pickens
3b. Chris Russell
3c. Anthony Harris
3d. LeDarrius Cox

Hope they can work it out where we can forward count Gibbs to 2020. We are passing on some quality players. Backup grad transfers (Madre London) aren’t worth missing on talent like this.

Correct. Believe we'll have to blue/grayshirt to get past 22

Little off topic but great point bama friend of mind came up with said go back look at records of rights first 3 year and kirbys.....you will be shocked how equal they are in win and losses column....future is bright for big orange....i really believe Pruitt will out coach and out perform kirby

lol just wow.

What DL gonna block sec OLs?! Gooden and who else?

oh our defense was plenty fresh. Our tempo was like 107th.

Why do people believe in resting the D, but not the offense? If a defense is resting, isnt the opposing O? Which rotates more, the OL or DL?
