Isn't Rusty a huge UGA homer?

A lot of folks here seem to think so but he really is the best UGA staff member on predictions.

He called Derrick Brown to AU, Demetris to Cal, and remained skeptical on NSD of a lot of guys...when some UGA mods were predicting a 247Composite score of 300 or more, he was pumping the brakes big time.

I think every team mod is biased a bit towards the school they are covering, but Rusty is pretty good. And he is NOT saying DG to UGA, he's just saying that RIGHT NOW chances look good. Rusty's CB is Gibbs to UGA but that is an old enough prediction to be almost meaningless (he CB'd in '14). Reading his stuff lately, he basically has been saying its 50/50, just hard to read what Gibbs is thinking.

But there is SO much time, who knows.

Taking care of business on the field this season means more than who has the most cousins on the team in my opinion. Would have helped certainly but I don't really see how it's the end all. Warrior surely matters some here too. GA acting like they've sealed the deal and maybe they have but there is a LOT of time till signing day.

This hurts I was so confident and I'm usually pretty positive about recruits. Why can't we ever get a highly rated guy to commit early? Others schools do it.

Maybe Gibbs was jut trying to get his cousin a nice ride to a SEC school?

I dont do guarantees in this world of recruiting but I am telling you this is big as gets with Gibbs. I dont say that much bout players going to school together. They are VERY CLOSE , families spend a lot of time together.
Reed could have went to any SEC school he wanted to, I stand by that...-247

I've said for awhile I thought he picked family and UT. Bama and Tn apparently tried getting Reed as well. I think that would have sealed it for TN.

Now, family is at both, what does he do?

Wow. You fell through the floor pretty quick. You do remember that we also have a cousin of Gibbs on our team right?

What do you mean ever? Is this your first year following recruiting? Or does ever only go back to last year?

If you fall apart every time news changes, following recruiting may not be for you.

Gibbs is a great recruit. Don't know if he'll be a great player.

Even though I still think we get him, I don't know why folks are losing their minds.

The only can't miss prospect in this class is Tee Higgins. He'll have AJ Green like success in college and the pros.

Everyone else is in the same bag. We're hoping they are great players.

Why can't mark right be at UGA still. You know he'd miss on Gibbs.

Mark Richt's problem was not recruiting. He always signed great classes.

I'm extremely excited Georgia has a new head coach that has never ran a program or coached a game and has to start a freshmen quarterback.

I doubt this was just Reed sitting down and thinking it over himself. No doubt he talked with family including Gibbs. If UT was pushing for Reed and he chose UGA, that can't be good for Gibbs landing at UT. If they are actually close, it makes no sense Gibbs couldn't have talked Reed into UT if that is where Gibbs wants to be and even more so with Warrior at UT.

If Gibbs was just getting his cousin an SEC spot, he would have got one at UT.

It's getting harder to pull elite GA kids when they think Smart and Eason are going to end the long Championship drought and lead the Dawgs to the Promised Land. I hope Smart is the 2nd Coming of Dooley and Eason is The Worst of Crompton.
