Man, I thought Gibbs was all Vol. I remember right before signing day him standing on top of Neyland with Warrior and KMac and screaming "We're on top of the world!" I honestly thought he was going to commit on signing day. He seemed to be all Vol. What happened?
So it's a battle. A good season helps us here IMO.
Basically what I had said yesterday then people tried to jump all over me :good!:
I appreciate all the info you bring 91. . . But you didn't try to say it would be a battle or that a good season would help us. You said he's going to Georgia, and you sold it as fact rather than opinion. That's why you got jumped on.
Just an opinion and I still think that's where he ends up in the end.
Very fair.
I feel like Georgia may have momentum. I also feel like they were way behind, so they needed momentum for it to even be a battle. I still feel like we lead and will land him barring an unexpected bad season or coaching changes. With our class where it is now, the coaching staff can put all their focus and go all in on their remaining big targets - Smith, Akers, and Gibbs.

-VQIf Tennessee can hold on to Cotman and the rest of its defensive backs, it's a very solid group. Tennessee certainly will continue to recruit others, but one name that the Vols are falling behind with is DeAngelo Gibbs.
Gibbs has been trending Bulldogs the last few weeks and even though many pegged him as an eventual Tennessee commitment, Georgia is in the lead firmly at this point.
He may still take an official visit to Tennessee and we're not saying it's over, but it would be an upset at this point for him to land anywhere other than Athens.
