'24 GA ATH Kamron Mikell (Colorado commit)

There continues to be some positive buzz around Tennessee and Mikell. His official visit will be an important one, as multiple other schools are still working to get him to campus later in the cycle as well . Mikell and Kelsey Pope have continued to have consistent dialogue about how he would be used at Tennessee, and the South Georgia receiver continues to like what he hears. Texas A&M remains a major threat, with Colorado certainly in the picture.

“I really just want to see how the game day atmosphere is,” Mikell said of what he is looking forward to the most during the trip. “I have already seen how campus is and I just want to see how it is as a game day atmosphere, then see more about what it is like as a school and what their engineering program is like. The coaches have already shown me and talked to me a lot about the football side of things, so I really just want to see all of that.”
“I have heard it is a crazy thing,” Mikell said about what he has heard about a game-day at Neyland Stadium. “102,000 fans is crazy. That is a lot of fans. That is going to be a different experience. Coach Heup and Coach Pope have been telling me about how many people come out to the Vol Walk, so that is all pretty crazy to hear about.”
“Really, I just want to keep building on what we have,” Mikell said of this. “I want to see how I fit with them and just see how things go. Just really being around them and continuing to see what that is like for me.” “With the receivers, I will just watch how they handle game situations and stuff. I went to the Florida-Tennessee game, so I got to see them in-person some there and see how they run deep balls and stuff and how they convert their other routes, so I just want see how those types of things work.”

I'm gonna guess that he'll not see another game day environment like he'll experience on Saturday night. Dark mode, night game, lubed up fans with revenge on their minds. Should rival the bama game last year. Suspect Hill will also be impressed. Now if the team can play well and boat race SCjr, we'll be sitting pretty with both I suspect. If I were a betting man, I'd say Mikell might be our final member of this class. Think we'll save the rest for the portal. Hill will end up at Bama I suspect.

Mikell got into town on Thursday night and will begin his official visit on Friday morning. Tennessee has been one of the favorites for Mikell, the four-star wide receiver for sometime, but his recruitment has continued to heat up. Texas A&M will get the chance to swing big next weekend, which makes this visit even more important for the Vols. Mikell will get to spend time around Jake Merklinger and Mike Matthews this weekend, as he has connected with both throughout the recruiting process.
His relationship with the entire Tennessee offensive staff is strong, and allows him to already feel a level of comfort coming into the weekend. He will most likely make a decision late next month or early in November. Texas A&M is a real threat and Georgia has started to communicate more about the potential of him as a receiver in Athens.

Yeah honestly think the environment will be somewhere in between the FLA and Bama games last year, with it being closer to Bama.

lol we all knew UGA would pull this move. They’ll tell him he’ll have the potential to play receiver then quickly switch him to DB. Just hoping it was too late for them to really be a threat.
Hopefully the kid will be smart enough not to believe it., They'll flip him to defense so just choose UT in the first place and save yourself the aggravation of needing to transfer.

This visit went well by all accounts. He really enjoyed what he saw from the TN offense and it all lined up with how they have told him he would fit into their scheme. The atmosphere stood out, obviously. Said it was the loudest game he has been too. He saw the academic side of things and this was big as he plans to major in engineering. He also connected well with the current commits and other recruits not committed. Very solid weekend for him. A&M next, then Kentucky at the end of the month, then a decision.

I'll take this kid and call the high school class a wrap. Any and all remaining scholarships would be used in the portal for OL/DSL linemen. Maybe save one ship for a real difference maker at WR.
Not sure you can do that when a talent like Sutton, or whatever the OT's name is. Also, there are some damn big needs, like DT. If you hve a chance to sign some DT, they're so hrd to find. You do it.

Remember its the 85 number, we lose 22 seniors, i believe.
