In my experience, the ellipsis is best used as a tease. The person using it is saying they know something you don't, while simultaneously hinting that you'd really like to know what they know.I've been here for years and Idk what..... means either.

I've also seen it used as a generic punctuation mark, or a pause, for people that are either in a hurry or don't feel confident about their command of punctuation.
