I'm typically a homer glass half full type, but based solely on this kids comments in the article posted above, this seems nothing but a free weekend wine and dine for this kid and his family. Sounds deeply entrenched in Auburn. So I'm not getting my hopes up here at all.
Normally I would agree, but Pruitt has been owning auburn lately. He may actually be the mayor there now.
Funny and true. Still, this kid just sounds too entrenched. Family loves it. He's close with the AU staff, current commits, and even former players. And based on what little we've heard about Puckett recently, I don't know that we've really had any traction with him.
A lot to overcome. Of course, you get him on campus and make a big impression, and you've got 6 months to play catch up. If any staff can do it, it's this one.
Keyton, Brown, & Beasley.
Quick note...
One top target we haven't caught up with yet is Zion Puckett, but according to several folks, the Vols made a big impression on the 4-star ATH and his family Saturday.
The staff is very high on Puckett's skill-set and freakish athleticism— either as a DB or WR. One person even believes he's the best WR in the state of Georgia not named Jadon Haselwood. Puckett hadn't been on campus with the new staff before, so it was key to get him here this weekend (over Auburn and Alabama's cookouts).
The Tigers remain the favorite, IMO, but Tennessee at least made a move, per folks. Do the Vols have enough time to continue gaining ground, though? Puckett intends to make a decision sometime in August — with UT, Auburn and Alabama the main three schools vying for his commitment.
I was making a joke mostly but as far as head to head recruiting battles between Auburn and Pruitt this class I think Pruitt is 5 and 1. So they are certainly doing just fine in their class but they have only beat out Pruitt head to head one time so far.Looking at who Auburn has committed, I don't think they're hurting. I want Pruitt to succeed as much as anyone, but I'm not ready to buy into this "owning" Auburn. We're getting ahead of ourselves. Be excited by who we've gotten, but don't get cocky thinking we "own" anyone.

Um, I didn't get the cocky vibe from Sleegro. He's just stating facts. Fact is, we're doing extremely well against Auburn head to head right now. That could change, but that's the truth at the moment. A far cry from our recent history against them. How many signed LOIs are in? My only point, don't get cocky and talk smack until we know what we truly have. Our recent past, we haven't earned cocky yet. It's like Kentucky or Vandy fans talking smack. We still have a way to go before we can talk like we're truly back.
