VQ says that Pruitt likes him at WR and that was surprising with Pruitt’s DB bias.

We all thought the same about Alontae and Bryce and look were they are starting out. Hopefully the DB's will start out in better shape next offseason to leave this guy at WR if that is where Pruitt really wants him.

“WE” did. Never read VQ post any preference for Pruitt. Maybe he wasn’t as chatty back then.

Damn. Thanks
No problem. According to them it’s a fluid situation. Bryce Thompson isn’t cemented at DB and they’re trying him at safety. If he returns to WR there’s a spot.

I think the coaches are looking at Puckett as a two-way player. He said he prefers playing WR, but he fits Pruitt's prototype for corner. Taking a versatile athlete like Puckett would help with the numbers.

I'm really curious how much he actually uses players on both sides. He's talked a lot about it and noted that he and most of his assistants were HS coaches and used to doing that.

Yep. Not sure he plans to do it all that much unless injuries force them to move players around. Players are learning multiple positions so they can be ready to play them, but that could be more of a contingency plan. I think he's tried some players at different positions so he can have the best players on the field. Otherwise, Tae would probably be back at WR.

If we take another WR, I think we'll take one that also fits the DB mold-- numbers being what they are. JMO.

I hope UT sneaks in and steals this kid. I heard Pruitt likes him at WR. That's surprising, knowing Pruitt's MO, but Keyton and Puckett in this class at WR would be killing it, imo. I think UT has mad potential at WR right now, anyway, so take those 2 and concentrate on the big uglies on both sides of the ball. Worst case scenario, UT can just move Zion to DB, another believed weakness

I think both of these guys could come in and start right away next year. With Tae Taylor and Bryce at CB I like the option of getting some great athletes at WR.

I thought Price said if he chooses to commit before September it wouldn't look good for us. So Im thinking we are on the out here. Im sure its Auburn

He told Chad Simmons that Auburn was his top choice before he visited UT for the cookout, and he's been pretty quiet since. It'll be interesting to see if a commitment on 8/17 shuts down his recruitment. He's already said he's planning on taking OVs to Auburn and UT for games this fall, so I guess we'll see if he changes his mind about that or if he leaves the door open.

Growing up in the 70s and 80s, UT played Auburn a lot and lossed to the Barn many times. So I have a strong dislike for Auburn, not quite the hate I for Bama, Florida and now, Georgia but close. So not only do I want to steal Zion out from the under the Barn on the plains, but I would really enjoy Pruitt's first signature win being an upset of a highly rated Auburn, this year. Oh yeah, when we beat WV and Florida, this year, it will be expected, imo, so those 2 victories won't be considered Pruitt's signature wins like beating a top 10 Auburn will
