Is the goal of recruiting to have players tell you that they are going to commit to your school, or is it to actually have them sign commitment papers and play for your team?

No we are very serious...but these kids also want to win and go somewhere relevant as well. And we don’t have that and we have the look of potential instability...which is a disaster.

Who knew that winning football games and having a program that doesn't resemble a dumpster fire are important to recruiting?

It was a bad year. It is what it is. We’re fortunate to have as many good recruits as we did sign early.
