'19 GA CB Warren Burrell (Tennessee signee)

If they can clean up on:

1) OT Darnell Wright
2) RB/OLB Quavaris Crouch
3) S Jalen McCullough
4) CB Tyus Fields
5) CB Warren Burrell

All of those I feel like we have an edge on... I'll be good with the class, whatever follows...

Gettable Wish list:

1) QB Taulia Tagavailoa (Bama Commit)
2) ILB Henry To'oto'o (CB Bama/USC likely)
3) DE Khris Bogle (CB Miami)
4) CB Jayden Hill (CB USCjr)
5) WR Lance Wilhoite (CB OSU)
6) CB Shyheim Battle (CB Clemson)
7) CB Tony Davis (Duke Commit)
8) OLB Kane Patterson (CB Bama)
9) CB Woodi Washington (CB OSU)
10) WR Trey Knox (CB Arkansas)

Wouldn't mind a bunch of others but those are the mutual interests that stick out to me... I'd like to see at least 2 of those on The Hill

...... hmmmmm... wonder what position I see as the biggest weakness here.... lol

Burrell's a little slow for an SEC corner but he's got good size/tape... has all the tools except makeup speed and ball-hawking... and the ball hawk thing isn't proven, people are scared to throw at him at a HS level...
Just something to ease your mind... I’m pretty sure his posted 40 was ran in 50’s degree weather... I have it on good authority that he has better times (in 4.4’s) from Tennessee and GA among others.
Also, his jam is college level (not the same competition but still) 3/4 of the battle is hand placement and timing so those boxes are checked.
He has very good ankle bend and hip flexibility especially for being what he is. He drives off the T very well and can work in space and doesn’t freak out with a ball in the air.

We don’t need 4.4 corners to be successful here or in the NFL if you have a good jam... D. Revis has probably one of the best along with Cromartie and Cromartie was a 4.5 4.6 guy. I know you know this I’m just contributing to the convo.

Agree college level! He was going against 5* wideouts from what I read, one being UGAs star WR of 2019.

What I've seen including info from AU & UGA guys, it appears UT is in a really good spot with Burrell. I'm no expert by any stretch, but he's a very good looking prospect imo -- better than 3-stars. If Pruitt wants him, that should be all that matters. He is an expert in evaluating and developing DBs.

"I am really only considering NC State, Tennessee, Florida and Auburn now," said Burrell. "It is basically down to those four schools. When I commit late in July or early in August, it will be to one of those schools. I want to use this dead period to figure out what school is right for me. I will have my visits done before it starts and I did that on purpose because I want to be committed before my senior year.

"I have a feel for each of my final four schools, I have visited each at least three times, so I am going to really figure things out in July. I will have my visits out of the way, I will compare each and then be ready to come out with a decision late in July or early in August. "I should be ready to commit by the time the dead period ends."

"The four schools really have a lot of comparisons. Florida and Tennessee especially with new head coaches and the opportunity to play. "Auburn is similar to those two, but without the new head coach. With NC State, I have had the longest relationship with them out of the schools still on my list. They were one of my first offers, so they have been with me a little longer than the other three schools.

"It is kind of hard to find a difference in all of them because they all have great coaches, they all present an opportunity to compete early for playing time and I like the feel on each campus. That is what I am going to try to find during the dead period. I want to find the differences and find the right fit for me."

"I will not do anymore visits or anything like that, so I have taken visits to give me a clear picture of each school. I like each of the four schools and one morning I will wake up thinking about this school, then the next day I am thinking of another one. "The day I have a clear picture of where I want to go will be a great day and I should get there after the dead period ends. When I commit, I am done with recruiting, so I am looking forward to that."

UPDATE: UT target eliminates another school, moves closer to decision...

Burrell is down to three and he is likely to commit before the end of the month.

**** As of today, I still like the Vols here

Eliminated Auburn.

"I am down to Florida, NC State and Tennessee now," said Burrell. "All three have what I am looking for. All have a strong academic foundation. On the football side, each offers the chance to play early. Then, all three are recruiting me hard too. "I know it will be one of these three."

A decision is likely to come later this month. "The ideal thing for me is to commit before the season. I really think I will know by the end of July. It could take a little longer, but I know I am getting closer.

"I am going to use the dead period to figure it out. I talk to all three schools every day, so I will talk to my parents and try to make my decision.

"I would love to wake up one morning and know the school. I would love for it to workout that way. It still looks like it will be a pretty tough decision right now."

This is not a gator type player and I can't see how anyone would choose nc state over Pruitt when it comes to developing dbs. I know its not a stretch but...Vol.
