Dylan Lewis has literally shut down his side of the field all year

34 tackles 1 INT.
They don’t throw the ball his way. Most teams just don’t get a lot of offensive plays vs Milton.

He’s the starting CB for the #2 team in High School football.

Excited about the immense gain he and Redmond will make once they enter our strength and conditioning program. It’s done great for Ricky Gibson too.

I know staff likes that they can play all over. Me personally, I think Dylan is kinda small for safety and like him as a corner. Redmond is huge and can play either or. Need some safeties tho IMO. Turrentine hasn't been that great to me

I’d like to see Jourdon Thomas take that spot next year.

Turrentine has been the worst of the 4 safeties this year.

No clue why Thomas has been playing so few snaps the last 2 weeks.

I think Thomas has been pretty decent on special teams before his injury this year.

But I can’t help but wonder, what if he didn’t get injured??

I can’t see him playing better than Boo has at Star. He doesn’t have his twitch our playmaker ability.

And you know the way our coaches are. They’re so hardwired to play the veteran.
I believe Boo would’ve just been a PR and back up Star at best.

And this defense wouldn’t have been as legit as it is…

There are not many players who are as good as Boo. He is unique and we are blessed to have him at Tennessee

Redmond is a solid CB.
I think he could be a really good safety.
Eventually play Star is during Boo’s jr and sr years as a back up as well.

Or Logonza at Star rotating with Boo.
I like that combination.

Regardless, you have to love the kind of athletes being brought in.

And I love Poteat at CB. If Beasley develops, he and Poteat will be a really good tandem after Gibson/McCoy are gone.

Yeah! Poteat is just a baller.

Beasley is getting stronger and getting valuable reps on special teams.

We’ve come a long way from turning safeties into CBs and only having one true CB (Hadden)

Gibson is just a redshirt Freshman I am pretty sure. Correction he is a true Sophmore this year. So we have one more year at least. Now if your talking about after next year I stand corrected. GBO

I really hope Matthews can take a leap at corner and be a really good CB3 and slide into the starting role when McCoy goes to the league after next season… Gibson and McCoy might both go.

Correct. And if both go pro next year, the ideal situation is Matthews being ready to step in as a redshirt junior and Beasley being ready to step in s as a redshirt sophomore. Hopefully, both make developmental jumps. But I think Poteat will be in that conversation and there to take the job if Matthews doesn’t make a jump.
