Not making tackles at Line of Scrimmage and less impact plays. Also playing poorly in pass defense. Just another example of stats not telling the true story.

Whole team has been bad in pass D. Lack of impact by DL is more to blame than HT.

I have watched HT easily get schooled on several plays by receivers and I was even looking for it. He is also getting blown back numerous times during the game. He is not the same player regardless of what the stats indicate.

Well I guess your elite football talent evaluation skills means this must be true

My opinion on what I have observed plus many others have the same opinion so there is a little consensus there. No problem if you disagree, it’s just a little debate. You can offer rebuttals, I don’t care.

I would just say the fact he’s as productive as he is, when opposing teams know he’s our best player on D and likely scheme around his specifically, is telling. I think he’s really good.

He’s not great in pass coverage.

HT isn’t a superhero. Can’t do it all himself.

I just looked at some stats and Kivon is low key our best and most impactful box defender. 7.5 tfls and 4.5 sacks with only 25 tackles. With that ratio it tells me the coaches need to be scheming ways to free him up to let him eat.

Exactly. This is his second year, teams have just figured out that he isn't great in pass coverage and are taking advantage of it where possible. He's got to improve on that to get where he wants to go, but he is still our best linebacker.

I expected the defense to take a step back this year with a young signal caller taking the reins from Bituli and losing Nigel as well as DT. I hoped that the offense would have averaged high 27-32 point range. Not explosive but enough to win with avg defense against most teams. Defense has a lot to shore up and improve on but they get exhausted by the middle of the 3rd. Doesn’t help we’re almost averaging a turnover for touchdown a game.

Heard we are getting some diamond named Hamburger Johnson in the next week or so. Plays DL, LB, DB, S
was going to schedule his commitment but was out pattying too late. good thing, it was gonna be cheezy. kinda rare to have good committment videos, maybe he can get something cooking, make some bread off it.
