Two of Tennessee's Class of 2025 commitments made noticeable jumps in 247Sports' updated rankings Monday afternoon ahead of Early Signing Day. Vols linebacker/edge commitment Christian Gass of Eastside High School in Covington, Ga., and cornerback commitment Tre Poteat of Verona Area High School in Verona, Wis., both are now rated four-star prospects by 247Sports.

Gass vaulted into the Top247 in 247Sports' final update before the Early Signing Period, which begins Wednesday. He previously was rated a three-star prospect, but he's now a four-star who's ranked the No. 224 overall player and No. 22 linebacker in the 2025 class.

He was already rated a four-star prospect in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite before Monday's update to the Top247. He moved up 22 spots Monday in the 247Sports Composite rankings, where he's now the No. 185 overall prospect and No. 22 linebacker in the 2025 class.

From the UGA 247 Mod assessing their last minute pickups by position. This is what they say about LB and it looks good for us:

Linebacker: It's Tavion Wallace or Christian Gass. Wallace seems more likely based on his connection to the program he's committed and how often he visited Georgia games. Flipping Gass given his relationships there and the season Tennessee put forth with its defense makes that one a tough sell late.
