'17 GA LB Jaden Hunter

UGA wouldn't cut him. For one thing, he's very good. It's also personal though.

For those who don't know, Jaden's father, Brice Hunter, played WR for UGA in the 90s. His mother also went to UGA, and they were both friends with Kirby Smart in college. Brice was killed when Jaden was very young.

Anyway, the kid has been through more than any 17 year old should have to. He messed up with the UT thing and should learn from it, but imo the holier-than-thou rush to judgement about his character is a little much.

All I and most people know about this kid is how he acted so incredibly disrespectfully on a visit to a team/program who opened their arms to him in an effort to have him join them. And he acted like a punk, a prick. Talked about throwing away or selling the gloves Tennessee gsve him....got on periscope saying all kinds of ish, including mocking Tennessee by saying that he hadn't yet been raped while on campus...screamed "Go Dawgs" and was barking while sitting in film a room with other recruits ..... and was clearly there to help UGA by recruiting other players there to see Tennessee. You can say what you want, but the kid is getting justified criticism and his "apology" after the fact rings hollow. Sorry to hear about what he's been through in his young life, but I know kids who have been through worse who have handled themselves much better, with much more class, who didn't act like a d!ck like this kid. I hope Tennessee remembers how he acted and absolutely wrecks this kid for 4 years when they play the Dawgs.

To say he's very good is being very very generous in my opinion, he's average talent and I've had many conversations with HS coaches here in GA who also believe he's over ranked. Just my evaluation from what I've seen and discussed

I've read many of the posts in this thread. A lot of anger within.

My question is, what was Butch Jones or the Tennessee staffs reaction to this? As some mentioned regarding Preston Williams, was Jaden Hunter sent packing? Did Butch and staff give him the cold shoulder? Did they make efforts to keep him away from all other recruits?

My guess, is that they did not do any of this. My second guess is that situations like this are not as uncommon as some of us might believe. Hunter's mistake was using social media to advertise it. By doing that, he let the fans know what was going on.

Not sure how it was handled although it was mentioned earlier in the thread that Butch and staff were aware of Hunter's actions/behavior. Perhaps it does happen, is more common than we believe. Im just giving my opinion on how this kid comported himself and I sincerely hope that none of our guys ever act like he did.

Sucks that it happened, but no one up in here was mad when PWill wore his UT gear on the Auburn visit and also said he was recruiting for the Vols...

There were posters that ragged on it. Ironically some of them were Auburn fans posting on here. :eek:hmy: Don't know what their problem was. Why would you get mad if it happened to YOUR team? :hmm:

That's one of the problems with this country. He's allowed to show his ass because his father was killed? Really? I lost my mother at a young age and never met my father yet I don't think I can act a fool because of that fact. To the contrary, if I acted like that, I know my mother would be waiting to whip my ass when I get in line at the pearly gates. Lets stop coddling and making excuses for bad behavior.

I also think his family ties to uga are inconsequential. None of what you said gives him a pass on his behavior. None.

It is simply a character issue. Could he grow up? Sure. I hope he does. Character isn't a permanent stamp. It's fluid and can get better. But remember, if does go to uga, he's playing Tennessee for the next four years.

From watching his clip, he acts like hes alot better than he really is. I agree with some others on here, he better watch about burning to many bridges in case something happens this year.

He's now in the transfer portal at UGA. Sounds like OV nailed this one.
