‘23 GA LB Jalen Smith (Tennessee commit)

Problem is his frame is small so he can’t put on too much good size

But he should be good regardless
Guys that can run keep getting drafted in the the first round in the 225-230lb range. I see no reason that he can't be that size in a year or so. Nakobe Dean slipped in the draft because he didn't disclose an injury. Virtually the same size as Smith.

I appreciate Callahan’s player information. Not as sold on his evaluations. Is what it is.
I’m not sure he does the evals himself. I imagine it’s what he gets from coaches.

Anyway, I think he will be great and I assume so do our coaches. I’m just passing along what might be affecting his ranking and projections

The way he shoots the gap full speed reminds me Toots highlights. When he decides to get the QB, he's a missile.

AP mentioned on the podcast that UGA really likes this kid. He camped really well there and would probably be a take for them any other year. They are just putting together a ridiculous LB class this year.

This is true.

What's also true (imo) is that only one of those LBs are better, maybe.

9.5 tackles, 1 sack, 1.5 TFL. Marietta didn't even run it 10 times so he should have even more tackles in the next games he plays. His speed is legit. Allows him to get to everything and make every play come to an end

“Very impressive! Let’s give him 3 stars!”
