‘23 GA LB Jeremiah Telander (Tennessee commit)

Telander's senior-year stats: 112 tackles, 25 TFL, 14 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 1 INT.

"I left my heart on the field," said Telander, who spent his first three years of high school at North Hall. "This whole season was amazing. Even though we didn't win it, I couldn't have imagined it would have been this special."

...Gainesville's standout linebacker said he learned to handle many different responsibilities on the field, whether it be pass coverage, blitzing, stopping the run or containing the middle of the field, just like he'll need to do in order to get on the field at Tennessee.

And every week, Telander had a major impact on the outcome, especially making the opposing quarterback uncomfortable in the backfield. The Region 7-3A Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore and junior for the Trojans, Telander in 2022 pressured some of the state's best quarterbacks, such as Houston County's Antwaan Hill Jr. and Hughes' Prentiss Noland, both major Division-I prospects.

Telander made the move to Gainesville in hopes of getting to fine tune his craft against elite talent. In the process, Telander made his mark as one of the school's best ever to play in the middle of the defense.
'Left it all on the field': After stellar senior season at Gainesville, linebacker Jeremiah Telander ready to start his career at Tennessee

Unbelievable that 22% of his tackles were for loss!

So 247 has now updated their top 247 rankings twice without updating anyone outside of the 247...I honestly think if they take another look at Smith, Telander, Slaughter, Weathersby and Keith the rankings will go up for all five...they are all in the 85-88 range and I don't think a one of them should be under an 89 rating at worst

Slaughter .88
Weathersby .90

I honestly can't remember being this satisfied with a LB class as I am with this one.

Telander is honestly very similar to Luke Kuechly. (Check Kuechlys recruiting ranking before you put your foot in your mouth whoever you are).

This kid was in 3A Georgia football and decided he needed to prove something. So he goes to a 6A school and becomes EVEN MORE dominant.

Watching him in that state title game had me thinking that EVERYBODY is sleeping on this kid. Including me. He's even better than I was giving him credit for.

We haven't gotten inside LBs this good since JRM. And we got 3 of them in one class.

These 3 are ####### animals!

I liked Bates, Bryant and the Weathered class, but look how that turned out....sadly :/

I think after that our class was Kirkland, Sapp, and Austin Smith, which again, is another good class, but again, look at how those guys turned out lmaoo

But to your post, I agree and that's because we have coaching now.

Bryant's film looked like The Waterboy. He was a missile, just killing people. Crazy that he never sniffed the field in college.

This kid seems to have the instincts it takes and it appears he has the work ethic as well. Sometimes you don't have to be the fastest person on the field......just the smartest. He seems fast though watching his clips. Great addition I think. GO VOLS !!!!

247 bumped Telander to an 87 and Smith to an 89…Smith is now a composite 4* and Telander is a high 3* (.8739)…Wethersby also bumped up from an 88 to an 89 which bumped his composite a little (.9030)…

IMO…bump Slaughter and Keith from 86 to 88 and their rankings will be spot on…Spillman at 85 would be icing in the cake

They’ve bumped Slaughter to an 88 which makes his composite a .8803…

Duncan and Bussell dropped from 88 to 87…Spillman was bumped up to an 85…

I expect they’ll bump Keith soon…if that happens their rankings will be pretty accurate IMO
