'18 GA LB JJ Peterson (Tennessee signee)

I thought you called him Sugar as a term of endearment before I saw which poster you were responding to. Laughed.

I agree. Yes, a little bit of time, couple of wks, to get in shape, up to speed conditionally...awhile longer for the intricacies of the system, and the LB position, also pass coverage. But, as I said, doesn't take a genius to blitz the QB. Bring him from all over the field, that's not that hard. Its like someone said, "see quarterback, hit quarterback".

If all he can do is blitz the QB, he may be more of a liability at first.. To easy to game plan around a 'one trick' pony...

You bring him from ALL OVER the field. Move him around, move him around, and keep moving him around. From middle to outside, outside in. I agree, it can't last forever like that, but it may can play a big part in us beating UF.

Sure is good to see JJ practicing. Pulling for this guy to eventually place Kongo butt on the bench. He has been an empty shell for 4 yrs. Be glad when CP does get some of his recruits in I believe with this staff it will start changing for us. Still think we got a great staff and that we will see more improvement as we go and as we get real SEC talent recruits in.

JJ along ways from seeing the field whether it’s learning our system getting back in shape etc. I mean really barely squeaked in. I see another disappointment for the fans. Personally i see him playing like Kongbo and Warrier lost and taking up space.
Bolvols brain small...speak dumb..🤪

If he is out of shape, Idk that it is necessarily for lack of s&c. Based on his recruiting profile he has put on a ton of weight in the last year or so. I wouldn’t be surprised if the coaches told him to bulk up and he will need a year or so to get the bad weight off after he does. Athletes are athletes though, he could still make a difference down the stretch, especially if we have injuries

I don't think Kongbo played great or even that good, but he did have one of our 2 sacks. For some reason the official stats credit it as a team sack, but it was Kongbo. Alexis Johnson collapsed the pocket and Grier tried to escape up the middle but Kongbo caught him. I do think Alexis and Shy played pretty good. They pushed the pocket a few times but Grier was able to get rid of the ball before taking the sack.

Agree about Alexis and Shy...add to that the holding that was never called against WV.

Grier gets rid of the ball so quick it will take good coverage to cause sacks. DBs needs to be very physical with his recievers and screw up the route timing..

Honest question: at what point do we stop commenting on his recruiting thread? Since he’s unbelievably no longer a potential player for us (i mean to say he’s actually here)
