'18 GA LB JJ Peterson (Tennessee signee)

Good athlete, I’ve seen him up close this week at the AA practice. Built to contribute Day 1 at LB, he definitely squats for sure and is more athletic than any backer we have in coverage.

Don't sleep on Shannon Ried.
Very good athlete.

But..Peterson starts with Kirkland and Bituli imo

Don't forget D Taylor. I expect him and Austin Smith to have great seasons

Very intriguing these two guys.

JK. Taylor 6'4" 245
ILB Bituli 6'3" 240
MLB Kirkland 6'1" 230
WLB Smith 6'3" 233

Jk. Kongbo 6'6" 270
ILB. Ried 6,0" 225
MLB. Kirkland 6"1" 230
WLB. Bituli 6"3" 240

Sounds to me like all the downsides are only negative for high school teams and towns. Doubt any of those have an affect at the college level

Oh you think not. Why wouldn't they? Where would the downsides go? Just disappear? The upside is that CJP knows Probst well. Downside is Probst was the boss man then, and he would not be that as an assistant coach. The adjustment might prove difficult. Of course, that is not for me to decide. That is CJP's job, with maybe some imput from ADPF.

I think Kongbo plays DE. He was already a tweener in the 4-3. I don't see him playing off the edge.

But Reid will be interesting to watch. The last staff loved him. And Bituli could play OLB

Bigger than the 210 he’s listed at?

My only concern for him contributing right away

Well number 1 that you mentioned isn’t going to happen because he’s going to to a first year college coach and he won’t be the head man anymore. And number 2 isn’t an issue in College because he’s not going to be making schedules nor will parents be toting the players to practice.

Yeah, Kongbo really should have embraced the move to DT 2 years ago. Because he's not developing at DE. Still a great talent.

I'm very very interested in what this new staff does with the current roster. So many players who might not fit the ideal 3-4 defense. But Pruitts ran a different variation before. At FSU it was more 4-2-5 than anything else. With Jalen Ramsey playing that Bandit position.

I believe we have talented players on defense still. Really curious about
Kongbo
Phillips
Byrd
Blakely
Reid
A Smith
D Taylor

With all the spread formations, most 3-4 teams end up being a 4-2 more times than not
