'18 GA LB JJ Peterson (Tennessee signee)

"There's hope that he will be here as early as next week. If not, he’ll be in Knoxville in July."

From that direct quote of Hubbs he'll be here in July if not sooner. Why are we starting to freak out? Hubbs didn't say he might be here in July. Or maybe he'll be here in July. He said if not next week HE WILL BE HERE IN JULY.

They got Bryce Thompson in, you really think they're not going to find a way to get JJ Peterson into school? Cmon guys, it's a new era on The Hill. Relax...

Yep hubs was direct no beating around bush on that one

And from what LA has said I think the NCAA stuff must be in line before

He could potentially have online classes he's gotta finish up or get final grades and get stuff submitted. He graduated yesterday so that's good.

Sounds like he's gonna get here one way or another.

From what I have seen he has to get the gpa and test score to match on the sliding scale.

Per an old reliable friend, he’s awaiting a few grades to come in. there should be no worries and he will enroll by summer’s end. Basically just waiting for final scores to be finalized. Has had a very productive spring academically

Update on 247.... JJ will enroll for 2nd session in July. He has to finish up some class work that will be done by 3rd wknof june to get his core gpa up. He is good on ACT. Propst 99% sure it will be fine. Said he will be here just a when not if question. He will work out with their team while doing class work

Good news.

Just not sure why there was ever a thought he would be here for first semester

No doubt. Core gpa very little worry with that if it's one class

As with all summer credit courses, it will have to be verified and accepted by the clearinghouse, they’ve become more picky over the years. Basket weaving is no longer sanctioned to get your grades up as it was in years past. Silly to me to prohibit a young man chasing a dream to better educate himself over one class or .2 or whatever on a sliding scale. NCAA going to NCAA.

Would assume our academic people would be aware of this and not allow our top signee to re-take a class that wouldn't be accepted. I assume it's an important one instead of a made up class otherwise he wouldn't re-take it

Not really. His school system is on a different calendar than most and did not have graduation until this past weekend. Final grades were just turned in today. Those still have to be certified by the clearinghouse before he can enroll.

There was an attempt to get the paperwork in early, but the NCAA wouldn't accept it until it was final. UT knew this was the timeline all along.

Oh I’m sure, just pointing out the hypocrisy of the NCAA
