'18 GA LB JJ Peterson (Tennessee signee)

I wonder if Propst will be brought in for the first opening on the staff?

Honestly I'm surprised he wasn't on this first staff. It would have to be an on the field position with his ego and money he makes as a HS Coach. It would make me nervous with him on staff and out recruiting. I know how Shady he was at Hoover, god knows the damage he could do with our resources. He made it known he was interested in a position on Alabama's staff back when Shula was there. Not sure a college HC wants to take that risk with him. Shula and Saban both knew better. I prefer he stay in Georgia and start a pipeline, when he's got elite recruits. I think he's 60-61 now, so that window may have closed.

We can only take him as on field for the first 2 years because we signed JJ Peterson.

I do remember hearing that. I just don't see him leaving for an off the field job at his age unless he's just burned out on HS Football. He has it made right now.

When you don’t understand a third of what he’s throwing on a chalkboard...and are still being impressed? I agree.

What is so intriguing about his RPO’s is that they have a serious vertical stretch to them. They give you a serious vertical threat will giving they obvious stress of an RPO... RPO’s now only give stress on conflicted defenders in a relatively small space... now imagine it with another ten yards of stretch on a down safety or better yet a LB...

Not really. His school system is on a different calendar than most and did not have graduation until this past weekend. Final grades were just turned in today. Those still have to be certified by the clearinghouse before he can enroll.

There was an attempt to get the paperwork in early, but the NCAA wouldn't accept it until it was final. UT knew this was the timeline all along.

The NCAA does what it likes. We had a recruit a few years ago get cleared by the NCAA. He enrolled for summer courses at UA and finished with all As and Bs and the NCAA came back in August to question a course he took in HS his junior year. The NCAA deemed ineligible to play even though he had already completed and passed college courses. So who knows with them.

Man must be tough for you guys with the NCAA being so strict on Alabama.

His last day was May 31, graduation was that weekend. Ga schools go 180 days, Tn schools still go 175 I believe? Anyway, graduation was normal date. Some schools got out the week before as they started first week of August. I remember we didn’t start till close to Labor Day but also didn’t have Fall break, entire week for Thanksgiving, etc

Peterson is retaking a class to get his core gpa up a little bit, not because he failed it or anything. He's already good on the test score part of the equation. Again, I'll be floored if he's not here in July one way or the other.

Is he taking an accelerated summer course? Sounds like he is just on the line of making it in.
