'20 GA OL Tate Ratledge (UGA commit)

I recall that Fulmer was cleared to recruit when Pruitt was first hired and did and in-home with Cade Mays. I wonder if we pull someone like Weinke off the road and get Fulmer to go meet with Dad on this one.
That’s not an option unless someone on the staff moves elsewhere. We didn’t have a complete staff hired when Fulmer visited.

If it's truly a business decision it damn sure isn't gonna be Matt Luke.... Who isn't great but will not be there long. Complete unknown.

If he chooses UGA it's purely emotional because he's built relationships.

Family claimed it was business. I have to believe them so I like our chances here with him not being EE. Why sign?

Wow Kirby must be staying the night. He’s obviously desperate. Probably gonna fix a pallet on the floor beside his bed.

Cost you visits and officials. Kinda defeats the purpose.
Not necessarily...... teams usually report 30 or more secondary violations with very little consequence.....we self report that Phil called the dad of a recruit to talk about hunting from a previous relationship.... call less than five minutes and was self reported just as soon as compliance found out about the call.... Phil would probably be banned from something for a short time and receive education on recruiting..... sort of like he did for coaching on the field..... I am 100% sure that Phil knows how to play that gray area in recruiting

As Joey said, Fulmer has 150 wins. He’s not going to be able to claim ignorance. And as an AD it’ll be a lot more punitive knowing it was intentional. All academic...not happening.

So we believe that everybody is paying players but we don’t believe that coaches/AD’s will illegally call players?
The actual coaches and people working with the universities are generally not the people engaging in shenanigans, it's boosters and the bagman network. They may know generally it's going on, but there's separation, "the Corleone family had a lot of buffers" as Willie Cicci said in the Godfather.

You got any examples of where something like that was considered a serious violation.

Of 100% certainty of that situation...no, but I do know that the NCAA told Barry Alvarez that he could not recruit the same day he declared he appointed himself acting head coach instead of AD until he had been taken his test and been approved. And he was a HC for years at Wisconsin. The NCAA aren't consistent or the smartest, but they aren't totally ignorant either.

I agree they use buffers/boosters but they definitely know it is going on.... it may not be my scenario necessarily but they could easily make a phone call happen if they thought it was what was needed.
