Tight ends coach Brian Niedermeyer was at the Darlington school to see Tate Ratledge as the Vols slowly hope to open the door to get Ratledge back on campus. The first major win in that recruitment would come if Ratledge postponed signing until February.


Offensive line coach Will Friend was set to spend most of his day seeing 2021 and 2022s in Alabama but joined Niedermeyer in Rome as the two continued to work things well into Thursday evening.

Honestly, at this point in time it's probably just necessity, a week to go until ESD, a lot of kids to see, I read on the UGA board that Kirby is going to see some kid in Florida today and then come back and eat dinner with Tate in his family, can't fight through Atlanta traffic and hope to get all of that accomplished. Now is the time when the high recruiting budgets of your UT, UGA and Bama's really pay off.
