'20 GA OL Tate Ratledge (UGA commit)

not working so far with crosby and previously emerson. Granted, Butch recruits
Emerson is not a Butch recruit. Committed to UT when butch was coach but Pruitt kept him, for a reason. Same can’t be said for the other two instate DL that year, Litaker and Lawless. Emerson has been on campus for 7-8 months, redshirted his first season (this past fall) while getting back into form, and he’s practicing with the 2s. But you’re right, he’s a bust, probably should’ve transferred along with the 6-7 other guys this past off season 🙄 make sure you pass along your notes to Pruitt, I’m sure he’s anxiously waiting

pretty sure Emerson was an EE.

He was, you’re right. The point i was trying to make to the previous posted was you can’t write off someone who hasn’t played a down of football for Tennessee and is still in his freshman year of college
i can agree with that

he was also coming off an injury, and they toyed with him on OL last pre season.

he's a RS FR. he's got plenty of time, agreed. we're just used to having to have true freshmen be all stars, or we're gonna suck. a lot of people have forgotten the days that we'd recruit 4 and 5 star players and they wouldn't see the field for 2 years at least while they developed.

it's going to be important for a lot of this roster to continue to develop over the next year or two so there will be at least some depth in 20, 21, 22 and beyond.

The four-star Class of 2020 offensive tackle from Darlington School in Rome, Ga., told 247Sports' Luke Stampini on Monday that he's scheduled to return to Tennessee on Saturday for the Vols' spring-ending Orange and White Game.

It will be the 6-foot-6.5, 306-pound Ratledge's third visit to Tennessee this year and his second trip to Knoxville in a little more than two weeks. He went to Tennessee's first spring scrimmage on March 30 after attending the Vols' junior day on Jan. 26.

Ratledge was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., and grew up liking Tennessee. He already has visited the Vols several times, and they recently have emerged as perhaps one of the favorites to land him. Home-state school Georgia also is believed to be one of the teams to beat for him.

He’s ranked the No. 39 overall prospect and No. 4 offensive tackle in the 2020 class, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. He's also ranked by 247Sports as the No. 66 overall player and No. 7 offensive tackle in the 2020 class.
