If she goes on OV next weekend all bets are off. I bet if things go well this weekend on their OV to Knoxville they cancel the Auburn trip.

Me reading the tea leaves. Big name recruits like Pruitt a bunch and really want to play for him, thus we are in it with a bunch of guys. But they are being told by opposing schools that Pruitt doesn’t have the support of the UT fanbase and therefore it is unclear he will last long enough to coach them (reference the coaching search fiasco - fans didn’t riot to wind up with HC with no prior coaching experience). Thus, Pruitt and staff are frantically recruiting fans to the spring game to prove they do have the fan’s support to counter this narrative.

Morris is one among many caught in this cycle.

Sorry if I’m beating a dead horse from my earlier posts and perhaps this is obvious.

there's really no telling what is being used as negative recruiting against us. Lord knows, there's plenty of choices given how the last 12 months has played out.

i think that's why he has formatted the spring game the way he has, and yes, why i think he's soliciting for the crowd.

but really, Kirby Smart did the same thing during his first year. he did the same thing with the GA fan base. and i remember way back when, Saban did the same with Bama fans.

both got phenomenal response from their respective fan bases.

so basically, if you care, and can....go. you're not going to this spring game to vet this team for the 2018 season. you're going because you support the program and it's future, and want to have a nice day at the stadium, for free, with your family and friends.

I know it is Auburn, but I am just not that concerned about their negative recruiting when their coach is on the hot seat, year in and year out. He is never going to beat Saban consistently and that is all the Barn cares about. If that’s what they want, they need to just move on.

Off base and watch out you might get picked off.

I doubt recruits care about the politics of the fan base's support right now. Pruitt is a great coach who is unproven as a HC...end of story.

I’m sure coaches are using negative recruiting against us but the whole Pruitt is already on the hot seat angle doesn’t fly.

CJP is being honest and upfront with the recruits and is well aware of the tactics being used. He tells them that this year we will struggle, but that this will be the last. He tells them they will be the cornerstones from which the new beginning will start. He tells them that he's a winner and all he knows is winning from his time with Smart and Saban. They appreciate his honest.

I think Pruitt will absolutely kill it in recruiting once he wins some games this fall, personally. We have more top guys coming through right now than I can remember. I just sense they aren’t quite ready to pull the trigger for him yet. We will see.

I will be doing my part though! I will be there Saturday with the family!
