Gotta think he's an OT all the way.
We need OTs more than OGs in the short term. If we get Smith back, then we've got one top tier OG for two more seasons. Some combination of Locklear/Carvin will likely hold down the RG spot. Guys like Lane, Brooks, and Calbert have potential that Friend should be able to work with. Lampley will come in at OG next year (hopefully spring).
OT, on the other hand, we've got Richmond for at least one more year, Hall for (hopefully) one more year, and Tatum as guys who've played there. Smith could always move outside, but he's elite at OG. Hard to tell what we've got in Niehaus at OT. Jamir Johnson will have 3 years to make an impact, but it's probably asking a little too much to expect him to win a starting job year 1. Antonutti has the frame and athleticism, but he's a developmental guy who needs at least a RS year (if not two years) in the S&C program before he's ready for SEC play.
I'd imagine the pitch to Morris is that he can make a push to contribute at OT as a Freshman and then, in all likelihood, be a starter for us at OT for at least 2 more years.
