He was a solid 4*. Showed up out of shape and has been slow to grasp some stuff. Far from a bust, just hasn't proven anything yet. He may yet became sliced bread's undisputed successor.

He certainly has the talent and athleticism. But even some guys like that need a year or two to develop. He still has time. Just a redshirt freshman.

Well he wasn't, in the short-term. it does seem like the consensus on here was that he was going to be a starter immediately without even having gone through fall practice. Nobody can live up to that kind of hype.

You need to recognize when you’re exaggerating. He’s a legitimate talent and we were excited about his potential...also a 4 star. He was always going to be A piece of the turnaround...not THE piece. Anybody old enough to remember Derric Evans can chime in. He’s one player and if he doesn’t work out? NEXT

Wasn't exaggerating. Many on this board were suggesting he was going to be great and had a good chance of starting his Freshman year until he could not get enrolled early enough. I understand it takes more than one player to turn things around.

So you take this board that seriously and anything short of immediate success is a personal affront to you? We always have the “tap the brakes” people to counter the D4H’s and the majority are wait and see’s. Experienced in expectations this bunch.

The way your posts read and the residual “instant bust” mentality on this board towards several of our players. Everybody’s in too big a hurry to be right imo. Everyone will be right at the same time.

Well I understand some players bust like Bates and I always hope we get a few stars that can play early. I just remember everyone really propping this guy up a couple of years ago. Like I said, I have not been following as closely as I have in the past and just wanted some honest info. Thanks

Everyone needs to remember, he played NT in HS. There's going to be a learning curve and he may redshirt after getting into 4 games, but he could be great before it's over.

He was a NT getting sacks and tackles in the open field. He breaks down and wraps up better than LB we have right now.

Learning curve won't be what people think.
Not a red-shirt either.

Roman Harrison is gonna be a good one. Peterson has had all summer to get in shape and the latest news isn't promising. That's an honest assessment...is it not?

Peterson is in better shape than he was. He also has been set behind with his shoulder before arriving and while here. That has a big effect on strength training you can do. He needs to want it more and learn to work harder than people and can’t out-athlete people on this level. Injuries haven’t helped
