Knoxville and Athens are both pretty dang cool. I think Oxford and Lexington are the only other SEC towns I like. I visited Fayetteville once for a few days when I was 14 with my Dad. I thought it was beautiful area and a cool charming town then, but that was in 82, so I have no idea how much it has changed. That was still during the old SWC days.My man apparently you don’t do Knoxville right. Knoxville is a very cool city to be in. Plenty of places to eat and drink, a lot of festivals, close to the mountains. It’s a college town. Plenty of commercial stuff and small business stuff to do. It’s way better than it was in the late 90’s. Now I enjoyed Athens when I visited. Auburn was weird to me. But Knoxville is a cool city.

Dude, some barner steal your girl or kick your puppy? Been down there quite a bit over the last few years with my son's robotics teams. Have no problems with it. Quaint little place... Miss the Auburn Supper Club from several years past though. Killed several brain cells there a few times. Sad it's gone now. There is absolutely nothing good about Auburn, it sucks from top to bottom. I hate Jordan Hare Stadium and everything associated with it.
either you were born into that real estate, or you're going to pay for it....dearly.
Hmm Not sure where you're coming from. If you're peering down the mountain (and your nose) at where i'd be a buyer, then, what you're saying may hold merit. What you said is a pretty apt description for somewhere like Lexington for instance, which is completely surrounded by 100 acre horse farms. But I’d bet that few major cities have more reasonably priced rural real estate within a 30 minute commute than Knoxville.

If you're peering up the mountaintop, to where you'd like to be?
Maryville, Oak Ridge, Lenoir City, Harriman, Clinton all have housing with beautiful views of mountains, lakes and rivers. Gatlinburg isnt the only pretty area.Hmm Not sure where you're coming from.
