'24 GA OT Daniel Calhoun (Georgia commit)

Are OTs just impossible to find? Like 4-leaf unicorns, it seems.

Ones that aren't complete projects are. Kinda seems like every OL prospect we are recruiting heavily are listed as OTs but as soon as they commit to us they will be playing in the interior. Perry seemed like a prototype OT but every time 24/7 is updated he shrinks an inch. He was 6'7" before he committed, 6'6" after he committed, and now is listed at 6'5".

We currently lead but will be NIL battle possibly

Respectfully disagree. UGA and Bama - our 2 major competitors - do not play in the NIL space in the same way we do. They offer "future" NIL opportunities while we offer more upfront. Why? Because they can - if one recruit doesn't like it they just move on to another stud who's fine with it. Eventually we'll get to that point too, IMO.

Even if we don’t get Calhoun or Warren this should be a good OL class especially if we get Satterwhite. OT class isn’t that great in general but we are looking at getting several high end interior lineman which is fine if we address the tackle position thru the portal
Whose the center in this group?

Per Rusty...hopefully not true.

  • I spoke with a source very close to Daniel Calhoun on Sunday and he told me again that he believes he ends up at Georgia when all said and done. Texas and Alabama are two teams that continue to push hard, but I think Calhoun is leaning toward staying close to home at this point. I think he makes a decision sometime before August. I want to see what we hear as the week goes on, but I think I would still pick Georgia for him at this point.

Rusty: "If I had to pick today, I believe Deon Grant and Eric Berry and Jamal Lewis will all be dawgs. My sources, close to these guys, you know...they tell me that the visits to Bama and Ohio St and Texas...pretty much anywhere but Tennessee...my sources tell me all of those visits were great and mindblowing, literally the greatest visits in the history of visiting...however, it's still the dawgs in the end for Grant, Berry, and Lewis."

Effing ridiculous. Rusty is out of touch. Kid may end up at UGA but we have as legit a shot as anyone else. He's been here more than anywhere.
