10. JOSH PETTY
There could still be some significant changes in Petty’s recruitment as he continues to load up on offers – around 40 so far – but Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Georgia and Clemson are in that top group with Auburn, Texas and others possibly involved as well. The Roswell (Ga.) Fellowship Christian School standout is still working out his visit schedule coming up but the Vols could have the edge in his recruitment now.
Of course. Because after all he was a Tennessee fan growing up lol.Just from a quick look at the headlines on his On3 profile, it doesn't seem like we're much of a factor. He has been making a lot of trips this spring, recently visiting FSU, Texas, Auburn, and Clemson. There is another article about UGA making a push. Nothing about us at all.
Looking like it’s going to be hard to pull him from Georgia rn but they’re still recruiting him. In it with multiple high end OTs after Matthews tho so really just need to land one. Hard to pull GA kids that UGA wantsWhat’s up here? Grew up a Vol. Last visit was in the fall. Coaches stopped by in January. Not on the spring or summer visit list yet.
Spoke to someone who’s known him growing up. Kid loves the Vols. Doesn’t make sense.Looking like it’s going to be hard to pull him from Georgia rn but they’re still recruiting him. Most of the time, it doesn't really matter if they become a national big-time recruit. I mean it helps you get them on campus earlier and more often and I think we saw that with Petty. But these people are deciding their futures in a couple different capacities with football, NIL, school, college life, etc and it's just a different way of looking at things than me or someone else on this forum maybe would. So I agree it means little in terms of actually landing them. But it does help get them on campus which is always good. Just hard in a situation like this where you're going up against a team that can win the natty every year and it's an hour away from his schoolCould it be that after growing up a little bit he started liking other places more than us? Growing up a Vol means very little now in recruiting.
