'20 GA QB Harrison Bailey (UT SIGNEE)

Bailey was #64 when this whole rigmarole STARTED...so no. Nothing cancels it out. Go piss on somebody else tires and tell em it’s raining...I ain’t buying.
I said today's update, so yeah it cancels it out. Again, I'd like to see the numbers that prove over time that our commits systematically are devalued, not anecdotal examples of guys's falling because, as Cooper shows, there are also anecdotal examples of our commits rising. These numbers could be determined, I'd be interested to see what they are, if they supported the world conspires against Tennessee narrative (or anyone else for that matter because I've seen this conspiracy theory on nearly every team's board at sometime, with the home team always being the victim), you'd think we'd have seen it by now.

Let's say there is a systematic bias against UT, our recruits haven't done much in recent years to prove them wrong once they are on campus. Frankly, we're pretty fortunate to have a player like Bailey committed, even if his new 247 ranking is accurate considering the last two years.
Regardless I think we all here know he could be a special player

You’re swinging with ONE commit (who was undervalued before he represented against highly ranked prospects) over Lawrence, Bailey et al for your narrative. Go ahead and research and print up your results. No “anecdotal” nonsense. Til then I’ll go with what I’ve witnessed.

I live in Georgia (Lord please let me leave soon) and none of the guys I know that really follow HS football and recruits has much good to say about Bailey's game. Can someone who actually follows the players (and not just the rankings) tell me a little bit of what the knock on him is? These aren't all Georgia homers, so it's not just the commitment for us.

Not ALL of em, huh? 😉

Bailey was at the 5 stars challenge as well, right? They are probably going off his performance there but no reason at the Opening for Bailey to drop, should get a bump from both sites. I sometimes wonder if these guys have preconceived notions and look for selection bias?

I don’t think there’s any question in this case...they have locked in on his lack of mobility and now they are only acknowledging the feedback that reinforces that opinion

Idk. I watch him on tv down here and all he does is shred these GA loaded with talent defenses

I'll do it, not tonight, but I'll do it. In the interim, here's our kids in the Top 247 for today's update:

Keshawn Lawrence (-3)
Jay Hardy (-6)
Antonio Johnson (+12)
Harrison Bailey (-49)
Cooper Mays (+72)

Bama offered Johnson and we’ve covered Mays. They’ll drop Johnson for sure if he sticks...ala Crouch and Toto.

So what are we saying? Bailey sucks? Well, we lost out on Haynes King. So, I guess we are just screwed. No need to even follow the team? I've watched the videos on this guy. He's smart, decisive, accurate, and he has a short memory, and no conscience. Ice in his veins. Ya know, I feel like Peyton Manning would've gotten ****** marks, at the 5* camp, due to a lack of mobility. How'd he turn out? Huh?

I’ve watched him but I keep criticisms to a minimum 1 because our fan base has embraced him. And 2 he’s a Vol. I live just outside of Atlanta so Merietta isn’t a long drive if you like HS football. The kid is good so relax Bailey fans. Although my opinion is I think the fan base is setting themselves up for disappointment with their own expectations of him. If you read these boards you’d think most believe he’s UTs savior. I’m more than willing to give an opinion on his game but don’t look forward to the backlash. For now let’s just say I understand the drop for many reasons and some beyond his control.

You read these boards and MOST think he’s a high level player. “Savior” crap is your own interpretation. We’re a more realistic, wait and see fanbase than you’re giving us credit for. We can handle disappointment with the best of them...experience thing.

And you're not expecting backlash from this?

I'm so tired of others trying to protect me from disappointment.
