'22 GA QB Sam Horn (Mizzou commit)

Horn is a super talented QB. I loved his film. He and his entire family grew up die-hard UT fans but Pruitt & Co. totally ignored them. It got to the point where they got offended and moved on, as they should have. When Heup took over, it was too late. 100% happy with our Jackson, but I feel Bailey will transfer so would love to have Horn too!

Such a strange attitude to take if you ever really wanted to attend Tennessee.

We were still dead-set on going after Ty Simpson at the time. I’m sure his family felt slighted, on top of Mizzou staying on top of him from the jump. Time didn’t stand still as we continued back down the path of dumpster fire. I mean let’s not take our mismanagement of his recruitment out on this kid. Good luck to him wherever he goes. I hope he reconsiders though.

I think Heupel likely felt pressured to pursue Simpson as a top-ranked, in-state QB, whether he was his first preference at QB, or not. I always preferred Horn over Simpson, personally. I just think it's a bit silly to take the stance that Horn grew up wanting to play for Tennessee so badly, but then gets his feelings hurt while the new staff feels out the QB landscape upon getting the job. It's not like he spurned Tennessee for the QB goldmine of Alabama, Clemson, or Ohio State. He could have committed to Mizzou any time he wanted to. Just unfortunate timing, I guess. Not sure it's fair to cast blame at our staff for any sort of mismanagement in the case.

He’s doing it honorably. Like Tayven after one of our losses.

I don’t see it as a mismanagement of recruiting if the kid was too stubborn to see what Heupel is doing. Good luck to him in the rear view mirror.
