'25 GA S Lagonza Hayward (Florida)

This isn't a "fire all the coaches!" moment, but it's also not a "ho-hum, nothing to worry about" moment either. If you don't give a damn, then fine, don't give a damn. But it is a problematic loss this close to the ESP.
Exactly, which is why I never called for Martinez to be fired, and even said he's had a great year. But not being able to take the momentum of this season and carry that over into recruiting, is cause for concern. I trust this coaching staff but call a spade a spade. I'm more than happy to eat crow if the 2026 class is different and the secondary play continues to be good

McCoys are not going to be easy to get every year. I’m just saying our db and oline recruiting has been not good/ mediocre
But there’s no reason to separate the two.
HS and transport portal fall under recruiting.

How would you have felt about signing McCoy out or HS? He was the 176 prospect in Texas lol.
Oregon State was his best offer.

Tennessee in 4 years has done a masterful job in rebuilding this program. From 3-8 to the College Football playoffs and winning 72% of your games.

For the record I think we need to try like hell to get Lagonsza back vs going to the portal.
He’s another Boo Carter level impact player on that defense

lol…you are worried about UF right now? You will always be worried about them then. Regardless of recruiting, they are their worst point in their program in many years. Any coach at UF should be able to recruit- nothing new at all. Holy moly.
They WERE at their worst point just 6 weeks ago.
Now they have beaten two of their arch rivals and knocked Ole Miss out of the playoffs.

Nobody is worried- it’s just stating facts.

Sucks but we will move on and be fine. I don't understand who wouldn't want to be apart of our defense

You’re going to be sorely surprised next season ha.

Boo and Harrison can play safety
Got a guy coming back from injury
Safety will be fine
Get a portal guy
If we can’t get him back then yeah.
There will be some good ones to be gotten for sure. Because anyone with sense (not you obviously Longnza) will want to play for a playoff team.

Dude is listening to the wrong people

i feel like he just made something up with that quote as an excuse, what could possibly be lied to about and your not even on campus yet.

The response to my original post was most certainly worrying about UF with Lagway. All I said was that it’s tough to overcome the noise this year and that they have the same tough schedule next year. I don’t expect UF to be a playoff team. I’m stating facts too and projecting that Billy Napier still has a bunch of work to do to keep his job. Pretty simple.

I wish the people that hate on Elarbee would spend some of that energy on Martinez instead. We finally got a year of good secondary play this year so kudos for that but our secondary was dogwater the previous three and in four classes he's only landed one guy in the top-200 (Boo Carter)

Like what are we doing when your top commits are all from a previous coaching staff

Hayward is a safety. Martinez doesn’t coach safeties. But don’t let facts get in the way of your narrative.

Sounds like a money issue.
Many he wanted more but Tennessee said they couldn’t offer more and then he found out someone made more from the same class.

Who knows.

Or you could be right.

I’m just not going to lose sleep over a decommit at the most dime a dozen position in football

When I saw we had a decommit, I just assumed it was Sanders. Hate losing Hayward. Hope Sanders sticks.
