Asked about being an LSU lean, thinking it was a UT/UGA battle:

Georgia really isn't a factor. Barring a major change, the Bulldogs probably aren't going to push for him. Teams like LSU, Auburn and Florida are likely to be Tennessee's main competition for Ojulari, and I think LSU is one of the teams he likes quite a bit.

It's just not the same. Don't care if you want to call overrated or just didn't care about fit, but you're skipping a heck of a lot more than that.

As or more importantly, we hadn't been down as long, Clemson hadn't started taking who they wanted from us and Kirby wasn't there rolling through like a locomotive. And you already know that, so I don't know why you keep acting like Pruitt is in the same boat. It's intentionally misleading.

Saban arrived at bama with just weeks to recruit and 6-6 season and closed in the top 10 in recruiting rankings followed by the number 1 class in the nation after a 7-6 season. I never said that they were in the same boat. I said it can be done and that some of the coaches aren't pulling their weight on the recruiting trail right now.

Four-star defensive end BJ Ojulari of Marietta (Ga.) is not on the visitors list for Saturday at this time, but a source told us Friday they think the Tigers are a real factor in this recruitment and have a shot to land him. In fact, they may even lead, this person thought. He's certainly someone to track moving forward.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the 25 rule in recruiting. Does it go away? Does it get bumped up? One of the two will happen with the portal, the question is, when?

Coaches are pushing for sooner rather than later, might be a wild ride after ESD if they add more spots to work with.

Did Saban have to deal with the first ever early signing period while he wasn’t even at the school yet? Without the actual staff that he wanted because it wasn’t finalized until almost spring ball....

I don’t think they should add more spots but you should definitely get back spots if kids transfer, etc. That is the way to fix it without increasing the # of scholarships.

I love the optimism, but I can’t get behind more than 7 wins. Still think it will be difficult to win 6 with all the unknowns (JG, OL) and holes in the DL. If we win 8-9, Pruitt should be national COY.

Agreed. But I think the amount of transfers you can have each year to your program should be limited as well. Like you shouldn’t be able to have 10 guys transfer in. I’d put the number at like 5 transfers per school per year.

The program Pruitt inherited isn’t in the same universe as the one Saban inherited.

Good idea, depends on how crazy the portal becomes, I think they are trying to reign it back in and basically do away with the waiver and leave the portal open. Miami wouldn’t have a team, they got a crazy number of transfers this year.

New names will emerge during the season, and if we win 8 in the regular season we will flip a couple big names and sign a couple others.
