He’s Ga right now, will be in Athens for the second straight weekend but by no means do I think Bama will let him without putting up a fight. Extremely rare that a 5 star that both (AU UA) both desperately want leaves that state. So, we will see if he actually does, writing that one in pencil for sure.
Of course, college football is all that state has, they live and breath it. Stories of sisters shooting each other because they didn’t feel they were mad enough after a loss, crazy stuff. From the stories I've heard, elite Bama athletes stay in bama because the universities offer the parents jobs, housing, money, etc to keep them in state. If the athlete chooses to leave the state, the university can cause major problems for that family. Just what I've heard about how the state of Alabama operates when it comes to prospective student-athletes. TIFWIW
If you are still in Grayson, your coach needs to reel it in, KW is trying his best to hurt the Dawgs efforts,
Hey @secking, anything more you can provide about what Kenyatta Watson Sr is doing at Grayson that is hurting UGA?
Every time I mention anything about Grayson or Watson Sr to any of my UGA friends and associates, they have nothing but the worst things to say. But whenever I ask for specifics about what exactly is going on, I only get vague responses. Is it the 7 on 7 team he runs? Something else having to do with recruiting? Or is it something cultural going on at Grayson HS itself? There was that protest by the players this summer, but IMHO that seemed to be more to do with the head coach rather than anything KW was doing.
A lot of people who follow Georgia HS football believe Watson is trying very hard to get hired as a coach or off field assistant by a college football team. Many believe he is attempting to manipulate the relationship he has with the 2019 kids to make that happen.Hey @secking, anything more you can provide about what Kenyatta Watson Sr is doing at Grayson that is hurting UGA?

Someone doesn't understand the current rulesLet’s just say he uses his group text with his former AS 7 on 7 players to push his agenda. Not just UGA however, any school that wouldn’t give him a job on their staff when he was promising college staffs that if they hired him, he could bring all those players with him. Will say he has two sides, can be very friendly to those that can help him...
Most UGA fans expected KW to use his relationship with the 2019 kids as leverage to get an off field assistant position at UGA or some other college. I saw this coming a mile away based on a lot of his past comments. Some kids and parents will fall for it and some won't. The only Grayson player that I'm aware of that UGA is still recruiting is Pappoe. There's some chatter that the UGA staff is now talking to him about playing the Star position, which makes a lot more sense to me. The kid just hasn't hit the growth spurt yet that many were expecting. He routinely gets swallowed up at LB. It's apparent when you watch entire games rather than just highlight videos. There's no denying the kid is a freak athlete though. I think he would be smart to be a little flexible as to what position he ultimately plays if he stays at his current height. If you are still in Grayson, your coach needs to reel it in, KW is trying his best to hurt the Dawgs efforts,
A lot of UGA fans just want to get past the 2019 recruiting cycle because of KW. There's really no good way to handle a guy like him. I believe the situation would be different if his son were a 5* player. As it is right now, the risk reward of having a guy like him around a college football program for the next four years is not worth it IMO. I've coached in another sport for many years and it's just not worth it to have parents like that around. The Grayson players right now are spread out all over the place. I've watched a couple of Grayson games, and Watson (the son) looks a little better to me than last season. He's standing out more in the games I've watched; in a good way.@secking @Greysondawg
I appreciate both of your replies. I can definitely see how a quid-pro-quo type of arrangement is going to leave a lot of people with a very bad feeling. Will be very interesting to see what Watson Sr. ends up doing over the next year after we see where the 2019 Grayson recruits end up.
This would be amazing. Wanya getting him to say, "GBO Baby" would be prophetic. My chiropractor friend is in Knoxville this week for official business, called me a few minutes ago, said there has been some excitement on rocky Top for this kid. Rumors has it that he likes Helton and that he knows he will pass the ball, just like he did while he was in USC. They are saying once they get the recruits in on offense, the passing game will pick up even more. There has been sayings all day that this kid is checking, and the coaches are talking to him with a very big interest from him.

Sure he wasn’t talking about Javonta? Would make a lot more sense. My chiropractor friend is in Knoxville this week for official business, called me a few minutes ago, said there has been some excitement on rocky Top for this kid.
