'19 GA WR Jerrod Means (Pitt signee)

I get that. But the guys that got passed iirc didn't want to come camp. Id rather CJP get who he really wants his way, not just taking every in state kid with a good rating, which Butch seemed to do. They have their own board and we have to ride with it. They dont just go build a board on what espn or 247 says.
Understand your thoughts here, however, whether or not Brown or Payton or Ellis cane to camp, CJP clearly wanted those guys before Means....we missed on those (and other) guys before settling for Means. Just us what it is.

Listen guys, I don’t careif he is a 1 star, 2 star, or a 10 star. I have a feeling our wide receivers better step up, or this guy with his speed and great hands that he has will be starting. You can write down the time and date of this comment. He may just be on the field a lot this year catching footballs to prove everyone wrong.👀🤘👍🍊🍊
🙄🙄. You say the same thing about Tillman last national signing day? I’m guessing yes.

Looked to see who you were quoting. I see it was catbone, the #1 biggest loser on this board. I'd rather be locked in an elevator for a few hours with Bruin than have to read Catbones posts on VN. Don't know how you guys do it. Nothing but negative, woe is me, eeyore pathetic existence. TBH, surprised that dude hasn't jumped in front of a bus by now. What a pathetic loser. smh
He's bad but not the worst anymore. There are so many like him it's hard to choose my favorite loser.

Merry Christmas....Some act like we are handing out charity in this Scholarship....Means is signed, Means is coming here, Means is committed.

No postings will change that.....

Some evaluations on Volnation are coming out of nowhere without all the facts. We can throw out these questions for every recruit and some of us haven't seen nothing but paper and 1-2 year old film.

Pruitt wanted 25 guys mid season to fit his standards. He values scholarships and would never accepted this kids signed LOI/scholarship had he not known and evaluated this player... This is not like The ole Butch era...

Only Facts that matter is that he signed and CJP and Staff know that he has the potential to play here and contribute....That's the bottom line.....

Don't analyze Means, question the Coach and Staff......the answer back from the staff maybe "Two Words, One Finger"

You mean the kid who saw more time than several of the wrs that have been in the program multiple years? The one that drew a fair amount of praise during camp from coaches and media alike? We get it that neither were 5 stars. For you to pretend that you know anything else about them is just ignorant

Tillman redshirted, and had one catch for negative three yards. I wouldn't brag him up

He was signed by 9:00 a.m. There is a reason the staff wanted him. There was obviously a reason and it’s not because we missed somewhere else. It’s not like they didn’t have two more months to bring in a higher rated WR. I am glad this staff is willing to take a player based on play vs star rating.

This. This is a great point.

Also remember people touting Jalen Hurd’s laser timed 4.37 from HighSchool....turned out he’s a 4.65-4.7 guy who got chased down by SEC linebackers.

Just not buying that a kid with Means’ size is a legit 4.4 guy....and literally no program of note wanted him.

He may turn out to be an outstanding player, but as it stands today, he was a kid we desperately settled for after missing on several other WRs much higher on the board.
FWIW, we won’t know Hurd’s 40 time for a couple more months. Now that he’s down to around 215, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him run in the 4.5-4.6 range.

Further, arguably the class’s biggest sleeper is WR Jerrod Means, a prospect who clocked a 4.4 40-yard dash at a UT summer camp at 6’2, 200 lbs and won a spot on Georgia’s All-Region 4-AAAAAA team. A cursory glance at his HUDL gives one a hint at why other than UNC he might have been fairly lightly recruited – he plays Safety half the time, and among his offensive highlights are a bunch of handoffs for a 7-5 team that was likely trying to get one of its best playmakers the ball any way it could regardless of his future college position.

Probably right about him being down the board.

But a serious question, not a jab, for you. Why would Pruitt make a point of saying he ran a legit 4.4 if he didn't? People know. People will talk. Unlike Jones, Pruitt doesn't seem to be into building an "image". He seems to be more candid and direct.

I'm like you in that it is suspicious that a guy could fly this badly under the radar with that kind of athleticism... but it does happen once in a blue moon.
