'21 GA WR Julian Nixon (Tennessee signee)

He could be referencing our coaches, players, fans, or all the above; or perhaps that other WRs are still being recruited. Let’s not bash the kid. Though I wish it wasn’t public, I imagine it could be hard when you’re getting hit up non-stop before you commit and then less attention/silence after; or seeing others getting attention at your position.

It would be the same thing if they’d committed to a different school.

Coaches are always going to sway their attention to other players because that’s part of recruiting.

Kids can’t expect to have everything served to them on a silver platter.

Who cares. He can be replaced.
Say kid leaves, and a couple of his friends who are also committed go with him. Then it goes from outrage over him wanting attention to outrage over coaches not giving him attention. People need to cool their jets. Teenagers are needy creatures. Apparently the staff gave him the attention he needed and the balance is now restored.

You need to cool your jets too, stop saying we gotta jump to attention and put out fires after a commit throws out a cryptic tweet. It's not a need to change the defcon number.

I have a feeling we are going to see stuff like this once the COVID stuff breaks and the coaches get back to the team. You gotta remember a higher percentage of the coaching staff's focus has been on recruiting due to them not being on campus and doing team related activities. As the focus shifts more to the team and getting ready for the season the amount put on recruiting is going to decrease.

We may be our own worst enemy in this case as we were more than likely giving kids significantly more attention that what we would do in a normal cycle. Now that we are going back to normal the kids may not see it that way.

If the contact between the coaches and recruit drops off dramatically after committing I can see where that would be a bad sign for the recruit. With the number of guys that we wouldn't look to upgrade on and the lower number of guys we are looking at to fill the class I'd think it would be easier to continue to show the love to the committed guys and chase the 10-12 guys we are after to fill the class. Doesn't matter what we think about it, if the recruit thinks things have changed that's bad. Talk all you want now but if we lose 6-8 of our top commits I would imagine a lot of people on here will be singing a different tune. How is this that different than our Dline coach not contacting recruits enough to feel wanted? I know we all thought that was a problem. Just seems we would be keeping contact with a smaller number of guys now and should be easily doable.
