If Matthews shows the same type of breakaway speed at UT that he shows in high school, we might have to coin the term Matthews Island whenever he ends up matched up man-to-man with no safety help. He could be the offensive counterpoint to the old Revis Island.

One thing about Matthews video, is how bad his QB is .... he is never hit over the shoulder and in-stride. It's always a quick out or a jump ball. His QB is always late with the ball on deep routes and underthrown. Matthews has to make the play himself.

Right, Colin Houck, the guy who just got drafted at 32 overall by the Mets and was a 3-star quarterback recruit who's been recruited by Power 5 schools since he was a freshman. Yeah that guy sucks.

What does being drafted by the Mets have to do with being a good QB. He is an average QB at best. He’s ranked in the 80’s of 2023 QBs.

Average high school QBs don’t have rankings. Plus the person he responded to said he was bad, not average. I think being a first round MLB prospect shows he can throw a ball better than most. Seems relevant to me.

It's not so much an issue of arm strength as it is being late with the throw ... and in many of Matthews highlight plays, that is the case. Now having said that, the point of the video is to showcase Matthews, not his QB, which can lead to a skewed perception.
