'24 GA WR Mike Matthews (Tennessee)

Best WR in the country. No one comes close and I don’t want to hear Jeremiah Smith.

Just watching those two routes, that’s elite ****.
We can be happy about our 5 star and not get ridiculous.

Smith was the best player America deservedly.

You all always do this crap.
- Every other coach sucks except Saban and Heupel

- Every recruit is overrated except ours.

I’m down to hear people out on anything if you have something to back it up but what do you have to suggest Mike is overrated lol. He’s got size, speed, versatility, hands, hips, route running, toughness, loves blocking, can high point a ball, high upside with a lot of attention as a safety early on and basketball in the offseason. I like to call myself a realistic pessimist and Mike is one recruit I’m stoked about and the least worried about transitioning

21:30 mark. I mean, they didn’t straight up say it, but highly implied it lol. They liked Staley a lot more.

I would take anything they say with a grain of salt. I mean sure, when KK speaks on O lineman, listen. (He raved about Ginther a while ago so that gives me a lot of hope). But anything else, meh. Especially bacon. Dude just talks to hear himself talk.

Take what those 2 say with a grain of salt, especially WR. Reed (Bacon) has some bold takes, but it's more of his attitude of how he just knows more than everyone else that gets to me. Before the '22 season, they both ragged on Hyatt and then refused to admit they were wrong about him throughout the entire season. Then at the beginning of this year, they were convinced that all the smoke about how Jalen Wright was going to blow up this year was overblown and that Small was going to be RB1. The part that got me on their take on Small vs Wright was that they pretty much called out the rest of the media as if they didn't know what football was and since he played college ball, his opinion was better.

I always try to like their podcast but Reed is quite honestly, brutal to listen to and ruins the podcast.

Bacon is why I quit listening. I met KK at one of the Vol Club tailgates and talked to him for a minute. He was all excited because I mentioned I checked out the pod and said bacon was around and would be back in just a minute. I didn’t wait. Didn’t have it in me but I tell them that guy ruins the pod. Which sucks because KK is a cool dude.

I honestly very rarely listen for 3 reasons. There are probably more, but these are the worst.
1. The podcast has horrific organization and structure. They try to take notes and go defense then offense or whatever order it is but it just feels like someone reading notes from a presentation but then they constantly forget where they are at. Also, they go play-by-play, which is hard to follow and keep up with what they are talking about since its a podcast and not a YouTube film breakdown.
2. I absolutely HATE the first 15 min of each podcast when they talk about what they did over the weekend.
3. Reed is painful to listen to, and he is constantly stuffing his face with food and trying to talk. Oh, and he constantly interrupts Kyler and never shuts up.

A major difference between our RB and WR is the chalkboard. Our WR run choice routes where they must read the DB the correct way. They just be on the same page as our QB, so there’s a reluctance to play younger guys.
The RB has safety reads and LB reads, he can block, middle screen or release. Sampson did not miss a block as the announcers alluded to, he fell to middle screen on a correct read. Our slot has several reads, our outside 1 and 2, less so. Their reads are almost entirely pre-snap, unless they get man coverage. Then they can dig or go. I have high hopes for Matthews and Staley in their ability to play outside or inside and pickup the schemes. We’ll see.

I hate to be an echo chamber but everyone here is correct. Seriously watch from 21:30 to 24:30

His critique of MMs film was that he seemed lackadaisical while still running past people, etc.

He gets plenty of time on the practice field and has said that Hyatt didn't look any different than the year prior--right before he won the Biletnikoff lmfao. Said Bru wasn't physically imposing. Then goes on to brag about how he "knows more than most".
