'24 GA WR Mike Matthews (Tennessee)

Dude you cannot be serious. The difference in high school football talent between Georgia and Tennessee is huge. I would be willing to bet the best team in one of UGAs lower ranked divisions would beat the absolute best team in our highest division.

I think the truth is in the middle. The fact is, there is a lot of talent with 500 miles of Knoxville. That proximity gets us in the door with a lot of recruits and will result in a top 15 class easily if the staff is competent. However, I do think to pretend state lines are arbitrary and don’t matter is also nonsense. Instate schools provide opportunities within the state that out of state ones can’t. I also have pride in my state and I’m sure a lot of players do, too. Tennessee recruiting against UGA for Georgia talent will almost always be the underdog. This case was the exception from reading this thread, because he was one of those players who wanted to leave the state.

Which is exactly what happened last year. TN's Div II-AAA champ (Baylor, probably 2nd or 3rd best team in TN, along with Lipscomb, Oakland, MBA) lost to GA 1-A champ Prince Ave. Christian (probably a top 15 or 20 team in GA, but wouldn't be able to beat the best teams in GA).

I know he is being recruited to play offense but this kid reminds me of Demetrice Morley as far as his athleticism. I could see him roaming the secondary and succeeding.
