'19 GA WR Ramel Keyton (Tennessee signee)

Ramel Keyton, one of Tennessee’s top wide-receiver targets in the 2019 class, now is just hours away from announcing his college decision.

The four-star junior wide receiver from Marietta (Ga.) High School is planning to make his choice known Wednesday during a ceremony at his school starting at approximately 2:45 p.m. Eastern time.

The 6-foot-3, 186-pound Keyton, who's ranked the nation’s No. 188 overall prospect and No. 31 wide receiver in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite for the 2019 class, is expected to choose between Tennessee and Auburn, the two schools he admitted last week were the main contenders as he prepared to announce his choice.

Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State and Miami also were among the top six he named several weeks ago, but he plans to choose either the Vols or Tigers.

By all indications, Tennessee is the favorite to land Keyton, who has visited the Vols six times since September 2016 and twice this year, most recently attending their spring-ending Orange and White Game on April 21.

Tennessee has been high on his list for months, and the Vols have emerged as particularly strong contenders for Keyton since he returned to Knoxville in early March for the first time since first-year coach Jeremy Pruitt’s hiring.

Define really want? If Keyton axed UGA, ain't ish Kirbs can do about. Again, I sure Kirby would've liked to have Morris and Keaton.

UGA already has the number 1 and 2 receivers in the class in Haselwood and Blaylock, who both happen to be from Georgia. Maybe Kirby would've taken Keaton's commitment, but it seems they are done at receiver. Not sure about Morris. He may end up being the best o-linemen in the class, but from all his interviews he and his mom loved Pruitt and UT, so interest wasn't there on his end.

Yeah UGA I doubt is really looking at WR right now with who they have committed. Morris was more of UGA last two classes working against them there. He liked other depth charts much better

That could definitely be the case. I've just read a lot about how and he and his mom clicked with Pruitt and UT in general. I'm sure the depth chart could have played into his decision though. Morris is an elite lineman, any UGA fan saying we didn't have room or he was afraid of the depth chart is lying to themselves.

Yeah he wasn't afraid of it. It was just common sense. Why go somewhere with the OT pulls they had two straight yrs when you had wide open options nearby at same level to step in very likely as a day 1 starter

Can I ask you a question and this isn't meant to try and crap on you or anything. Why do you use "Yer" in the place of "Your"? You seem to have really good grammar otherwise, it just always seems really out of place lol.

Haha I like good grammar but want to sound a little redneck sometimes. Been doing it for years. My work computer doesn't even bother underlining it as misspelled anymore. Keeps me from going full grammar police since I would just get called out for the yers.

Player: 4-star WR Ramel Keyton
Time of announcement: 1:45 p.m. CT.
My pick: Tennessee (Crystal Ball was put in for the Vols last month)
411: Tennessee has made him a far greater priority and that will pay off. Auburn likes him -- and probably would take him. But the truth is the Tigers are in a good spot at WR with George Pickens already on board and can be selective. While Auburn thinks Keyton is solid, the Tigers have recruited several others just as hard. Some harder. The pool at WR is large this cycle. That in no way should be taken as a slight to Ramel, who is a very good player. At the end of the day, Tennessee wanted him more and that will be the difference. For the Vols, he's a nice get. Ramel is tall and smooth. Probably has a nice ceiling. For Auburn, the focus will remain on players such as Jadon Haselwood. Then you have two-way players such as Jashawn Sheffield, Mark Richards, Zion Puckett. I'll keep digging, but there are others.

He probably could have had 30 tds last season. Bailey missed like 6 games and our backup is really a CB. He was behind defenses at least a dozen times in games where he was over or underthrown. He played against really good teams too. He still averaged 100 yds a gme receiving and had 16 tds.

If he has a season like he did the last two years he will end up in the top 3 in receiving yards in state history despite not really playing as a FR. He only needs 400 yards to move into the top 10.

Keith is clearly a homer. Imo, Ramel is a game changer. Dude looks elite, and he’s physical. He might be a better version of JJ. He’s a dog with the physicality, but looks like a better receiver. I’m excited about this kid
