'25 GA WR Travis Smith (Tennessee commit)

True statement…but UGA has had 3 pass catchers (Pickens, McConkey, Bowers) drafted higher than any of UT’s since CJH took the reins.

And that’s basically what it boils down to in any WR recruiting now between UT (stats and recognition/college system) and UGA (do the no name work/pro style system)
The reason UT hasn’t had a WR drafted higher than ugh is because CJH came into a dumpster fire and is just getting started. Let’s revisit this topic in a few years.

Clown 🤡 response. How far you wanna go back? UT is tied for 3rd all time in number of draft picks.
UGA and WRs never have been a thing. You got lucky with Ladd, considering how bad he wanted to be a Vol. Pickens was an anomaly, and all he did noteworthy in college was slam a kid into the end zone wall like he did that autistic kid in HS. When we think of UGA WRs what come to mind is overachieving and good blockers/special teams guys at the next level. Like the kid that played for the chiefs, Conley I believe?

And neither one of those were as talented as Hyatt. Which one of those were the best WRs in the nation? Which one won the Bilitnekoff? Which one torched Bama worse than just about any WR ever has? Yeah that’s what I thought.

UGA has not had better WRs than TN has at the college level. That’s a fact.

They could be 6th in numbers drafted for all I care. They still earned the name WRU.

Do you live in Chattanooga?
Let me guess, you live in Chattanooga, but you're a UGA fan that's surrounded by a healthy amount of Tennessee fans and culture.

Come to find out you actually like Tennessee, but you're to afraid to become a Vol fan all the wAy.
So you dabble on Volnation 😅.

I would never go on another teams forum and praise or hate on their team.
It's free country but ...you never win.

And then you get angry eventually and leave, only to realize you wasted a bunch of time, with fans that never appreciated your insight.

I'm not saying you should leave. I'm just saying it doesn't matter if you're here or not.

Same dude. Same.

I’ve not said one disparaging thing. Just facts. Not WRU if you aren’t even the top producer of NFL talent in your conference.

Never claimed UGA was WRU. Know we don’t produce top level receivers on a yearly basis.

You’re right that I don’t hate UT. I like to know what’s happening on your team so I can chat with co-workers and friends about ball.

I despise Georgia however Hines Ward was pretty damn elite. I know he did everything in College but the guy earned the respect.

I think that’s the point though. You don’t have to have the gaudy numbers to get the NFL scout attention.

No. But generally low production guys aren't getting drafted early. Which why a guy like Pickens, who was an elite recruit, ended up as a 2nd round pick instead of a 1st rounder.

That and he couldn't spell his own name.........glass house and such, I know we've had a few like that too.

So you do work around a bunch of UT folks.
That explains it. They’re wearing on you haha.

Never said that you said anything disparaging.

Tennessee has put a WR in the NFL every year since Heupel, and we’re still doing it before him.
Tennessee has the last Biltenkoff Award winner in the SEC (Hyatt 2022)

We put 3 stars Velus Jones and Cedric Tillman in the league.

Pick your argument I guess haha. But you got it…👍

In the 1990s they had a good run.

Fred Gibson, Reggie Brown, Damien Gary and Terrence Edward’s were all good players. And so was Champ Bailey when he played offense.

And we still beat those guys haha. Richt was something else

Andre Hastings was the one I liked. Zeier to Hastings with Hearst behind him. Goff recruited some talent. Did nothing with it, but they had some talent.

Travis Smith is low key Calvin Johnson freak WR.

59th overall player?

Man get him Pope!
I think that's a bad comparison because he doesn't appear to have elite top end speed. What he does have is a big frame (6'3" 200lbs as a high school junior) and elite body control. He also appears to have ridiculously strong hands already. This combination makes him a 50/50 ball nightmare for defenders. He also has a nasty demeanor for a WR. Can he become a 215-220 pound headache in the SEC? The tools are there. I'd be happy with a blend of Tillman/Jauan Jennings here when he peaks. Hope we'll be booming real soon.

I still liken him to Tee Higgins for a lot of the reasons you mentioned, plus the physical resemblance.

for current players I would say that sounds like Bru.
